Hampton Inn & Suites Jacksonville South - Bartram Park

Typical Hampton Inn breakfast - make it yourself waffles with toppings, eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, bread and muffins. The location of the hotel is excellent. Many restaurants and stores within a close vicinity.

Coffee and tea are located in the lobby across from the front desk which is on the other side of the dining room from the breakfast. Not very convenient when having breakfast. TV channels are limited and did not see a way to stream.

Beds are a little too soft and I don't like the sheets that are polyester. I also didn't like the fast that I had to add on an extra comforter from the closet. I thought the beds at Radison were better.

Location and nice room

The check in process was smooth and professional, having booked over the phone for a group reservation and requiring follow up check in on site. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, they accommodated the few added requests we had, and the hotel was within short walking distance of 20+ restaurants for our choice of dining at all price ranges. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Overall, this was a pleasant experience. Armeena, the nice young lady at the front desk was very helpful. We arrived early to check in and she actually went to find the Housekeeping Supervisor to confirm that our room was ready. Our room appeared to have been updated and it was very clean. We were on the first floor right across from the FItness Center and only a few doors down from the side entrance but didn't experience any issues with slamming doors. The bed was very comfortable and even though the hotel appeared to be full, it was very quiet. We did run into a common problem we've found with many hotels (both Hilton and Marriott). There didn't appear to be an option for having the fan on constantly even when the A/C reached the temp we had set on the thermostat. The first maintenance guy didn't speak English but he got his supervisor to come to help and he spoke English and reset the thermostat to a constant fan. Thank you, Ivan! The good news is that this hotel doesn't use motion detectors so that the A/C stayed on all night even when we were sleeping. The location was very convenient for getting to TPC Sawgrass for The Players Tournament. It's about 20-30 minutes away... just enough time for me to drink my free coffee from the hotel!
