The Maynard

Lovely stay at the Maynard. Parking could be tricky if staying for longer than a day but were given a disc for 3 hours. Lovely room, but bathroom quite small.

Loved our short stay at the Maynard, lovely clean family room....an the bed...oh my it was sooo big an comfortable. We will definitely be staying again.

Good sized family room. Helpful staff. Free Netflix. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee.

Great little hotel. Fab location. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was great, clean and spacious. Shower pressure wasn't great but water was hot. Would definitely stay again.

The Maynard hotel is a little run down no bar or restaurant had to go outside to a cafe for breakfast called the rowntree cafe which wasn’t explained when booking had to climb 4 flights of stairs on the top floor with a family of 4 not very good when u have a 6 year old (glad we didn’t have a pram) didn’t even see the manager at all during the stay but overall the room was lovely fresh towels n bin changed everyday no bed linen changed though wouldnt stay again due to family room being on the top floor n with ill health also is not very good

Was a nice clean place to stay although down side room 6 was very warm.,staff was lovely. Easily located to all areas but will say lots of walking up and down steps and steep hill. (There is a lift but at a cost.) Breakfast was available at the sister place across the road 2 mins away but also 5 mins away. Clock cafe overlooking the town and sea lovely view. Would recommend to stay .

The hotel is a short walk to the beach and the old town area but in a quiet part of town. There is some construction going on at the moment (July 2021) next door but nothing too invasive and it will likely be done soon. We had to call the owner when we arrived to check in as there isn't a receptionist on site but they arrived within minutes, answered all our questions, and took good care of us. Our room, though a little small, was clean and had everything we needed for our comfort. We could hear the family in the room next to us talking and slamming their door on the way in and out but that's just a reality of staying in these lovely historic buildings. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel room was clean. It was under renovation when we went so couple of snags were that bathroom extractor was dusty & really noisy but apart from that, no complaints. Although it is advertised as not having a reception, I had to hunt someone down to check in & check out as there was no sign of anyone being there. The owner was working on the sister property round the corner so arrived within a minute of me ringing her to check out & was very keen to hear feedback. Comfy bed, lots of storage space, enjoyed it.
