"Interesting and Different Place to Stay"

8.0

Well, we LOVED the owner and his family was lovely. His wine is GREAT and the dinners in his on site restaurant were both affordable and delicious. The house itself is a large old rambling house turned into hotel. The rooms are decorated in old pictures, cross stitch and you feel like you've gone to visit your grandmother in the country. All of that I loved. The problem is there is little to keep you from hearing the people in the other rooms and our neighbors had screaming babies. He should really consider putting children in another section of the house to protect those of us who don't have little ones from the noise. Oh, and he owns a few roosters. All of this can be solved by bringing along your ear plugs. I'd really emphasize that the place is amazing and these drawbacks don't offset the unique stay we had there. Just go prepared and enjoy!

"Great family hotel."

8.0

A great B&B type hotel which dates from the 1600s. Several rooms are large enough to easily accomodate 4-5 people--two parents and three kids. Owners/operators speak excellent English. Restaurant on site is excellent.

"ON CONFERENCE VISIT"

10.0

THE VILLA IS A NICE PLACE TO STAY, THOUGH FOR ME BEEN MY FIRST TIME TO VISIT TRENTO I HAD A LITTLE CHALLENGE IN LOCATING THE PLACE. HOWEVER THE STRESS WAS OVER WHEN I WAS WARMLY RECEIVED. THE WORKERS ARE WARMLY AND COURTEOUS. IS A HOME OUTSIDE HOME.

"Original and eccentric"

6.0

A great villa on the hill overlooking Trento. The villa is old and full of character but needs a lot of work. We stayed in part of the main villa with walls covered in original paintings. We had two toilets off this room, one toilet with wc and the other with the wash hand basins. Buffet breakfast was ok. Be prepared for a stay in a truly eccentric place.

"Beautiful Surprise"

10.0

My wife and I were traveling by train, so we didn't have a car. We called the hotel to get directions. They told us which bus to take, and to call them from the stop. When we called they came and Picked us up. The staff were so nice. And the room and the villa itself were absolutely stunning. What an awesome place in the hills south of Trento. If you're considering staying here do yourself a favor and book it... It would have been way more convient if we had a car, but the bus and the train worked out fine...

"A room with character"

8.0

We had large loft room with 4 beds. Would be fine if everyone is short in your group. Was a real challenge for 6'1" who could smack his head on multiple beams. Lots of steps up to room! Free internet was great, but had no reception in our room and used internet out on the covered walkway. Great view and lots of history. Window box flowers were very cheery and added to the atmosphere. Breakfast had lots of choices and had much Tyrol influence. Dinner was OK, nothing fabulous but reasonably priced and service was good.

"Great views, comfortable hotel."

6.0

My wife and I stayed here for one night in April 2012. We had a large room upstairs at the rear of a 15th century part of building. Access to the room was via external stairs and walkways which were a bit rickety. The room looked unfinished with some rough timberwork on door frames and other areas. The bed was comfortable but the pillows too thin for our liking. Our room had an extra bed and a small table & chairs, and a small flat screen TV. The bathroom was small but adequate. Noise suppression was not good and we could clearly hear people in adjacent rooms talking. Wifi is free but there was no signal in our room, but it worked OK in the corridor. There is secure parking in the grounds but take care on the driveway as it is very narrow. Good buffet breakfast spread of cereals, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries and slices.

"Bel Sorriso - Indeed!"

8.0

This unique, rustic villa is a little out of the way (best to just take a taxi if unfamiliar with the area), but completely worth it. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and helpful and do everything from show you to your room, host villa tours, and take your order at dinner. Everything you need is on-site, dinner in the main hall, and a separate breakfast nook with a wonderful morning spread. Rooms are quiet, cosy, spacious and quaintly decorated with modern touches, patio and full kitchenette. The view of the mountains and neighboring vineyards is unbeatable and don't forget to try the grappa!

"Wonderful"

10.0

We could not believe our eyes when we arrived at Villa Bertagnolli. We expected just to have a hotel room: we found we also had a dining area with self catering facilities (not that we needed them) and a balcony overlooking the surrounding vinyards. The hotel and our rooms were beautifully decorated in traditional style. Our rooms were kept spotlessly clean. The owner of the hotel was friendly and trusting (not even asking for my credit card or passport on arrival). The quality of food in the restaurant is superb. On our last day we were given complimentary wine and grappa with our meal as well as a free chocolate pudding and we were presented with a bottle of their own red wine to take home with us. Our only regret is that we had such a busy walking holiday that we did not have more time to spend relaxing in such wonderful surroundings. I will always have very fond memories of the Villa Bertagnolli.

"A very nice place to stay"

10.0

We stopped for one night on our way from Germany to South of France. There were only two of us but we were upgraded to a family room with one large, 2 single bends and a sofa. So, if you coming along with a lot of children, request that one! In the morning we had a nice breakfast and then a tour of the villa (a must), given by the owner's son - a great guy who speaks very good English. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would definitely come back.
