Hotel Ulisse

I highly recommend Hotel Ulisse. Great location, walking distance to beach, main marina, bus stop, shopping and restaurants. I explored most of the island and was very pleased with staying in Ischia Porto. The view of castello argonese (castle) is a bonus. Heated pool with jets was wonderful. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good with delicious espresso, pastries, meat/cheese, fresh fruit and granola/yogurt. The restaurant serves dinner nightly with two main coarse choices for 20 euro per person. I wasn't very impressed with the dinner, found better food at nearby restaurants. Room was basic but comfortable. Mattress was okay.

The hotel is really confortable, the location is good and closed from the port, only the wifi conection is really bad

We were staying in sorrento for two weeks an d fancied at rip to ischia so decided to stay overhotei ulisse was fantastic can't fault any thing terrace and view amazing food staff room lovely couldn't asked for more we will return.

This was by far the worse experience I have had at any hotel. The hotel is in a run down area. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. The room was a complete joke. It was tiny and I mean TINY and I have stayed all o er Europe, NYC, and SF all know for small rooms. I have stayed in literally 1000s of hotels and this was the worst place that I have e been. I am expecting a beautiful room with a great view. What got was a room not even big enough to fit our 2 suitcases. I booked the room with sea view and balcony. what I got was a balcony 1 foot by 5 feet with no chairs. The view was ok if you didn't mind the ghetto that surrounds the hotel that you are force to look at. But the real kicker was the bathroom with shower. LOL. The teeny tiny bathroom was dirty and the shower was a shower head and a drain in the floor by the toilet. You have to try and use plastic shutters to put around you as you showered. Needless to say we only stayed 1 of the 3 nights and left and went to Capri. The hotel wouldn't let me know of the last 2 nights, no surprise and I didn't care. I would strongly recommend going to Capri vs Ischia. But if you do go to Ischia don't stay here unless you like filthy, tiny hotels where you can shower while using the toilet.

Convenient location on the main street of Ischia town, but on the quiet end. Beautiful view of Castle Aragonese, wonderful terrace, nice pool area. The staff was very helpful in recommending sightseeing and transportation. Within walking distance of the port with great shopping along the way.

Very enjoyable. Staff was extremely pleasant (especially at the pool bar). Hotel is in a wonderful location and offers a great view of the nearby castle. Great value.

Nice little room next to the pool. Good selection for breakfast, great location not too close to the busy parts of town.

We were initially given a room on the terrace out by the swimming pool. Unfortunately the room smelt very strongly of damp, so much that it made our clothes smell and was very difficult to sleep in. There were a few other issues with the room and it just generally wasn't the standard we'd expect of a hotel of this standard. We spent the first night in the room but the next day explained we were unhappy with it to the hotel staff and were very quickly sorted out with a replacement room that was much much better. The staff were extremely helpful, especially with the room change, and provided us with lots of great information about the island. Overall we had a great stay at Hotel Ulisse and were really pleased with our choice. It's ideally located between the port and the quieter Ischia Ponte providing a great choice of restaurants, cafes and shops within walking distance and also a stunning view from the sun terrace.

I recently stayed at Hotel Ulisse as part of a family group of seven, for eleven nights. It suited us perfectly and was in a great location. The hotel was very well run, the staff helpful and the food, even at the snack bar, was sublime! Our group elected to stay in garden rooms to be near the pool, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. Even though everyone without exception had to wear bathing caps! Everyone enjoyed the ample breakfasts in the restaurant and lunches beside the pool. The pool café/snack bar offered a fabulous inexpensive menu, including salads and bruschetta. Yum! The evening meals at the restaurant were superb and I would recommend the meals to anyone keen to experience, excellent, no-fuss, Ischiatan cuisine. Importantly the beds were comfortable, with crisp linen sheets changed daily, and the rooms beautifully clean. The gardens rooms included a patio area and washing line, which was very handy. Other rooms in the main hotel would have amazing views to the sea and castle. There are also two viewing/sun decks on the upper floors. If you do plan to stay for awhile, there is a laundry, however it's usually only open in the afternoon. I recommend asking nicely at reception for the key. The eleven days I spent on Ischia were wonderful, there's lots to see and do, and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very pleasant and enjoyable. The hotel was perfect and 5 min.from a lovely beach. Really friendly Italian service everywhere. Couldn't have chosen a nicer spot
