The entrance was very grand. The grounds had some nice gardens.

Wifi kept crashing. Very noisy - we were warned about construction work but it went until after 9pm. Also there was yoga teacher training with a very loud after party. Complained and were moved but still issues with wifi.

Venue is stunning, so many areas and so many things to look at and explore. There are tonnes of people always around as a few yoga schools operate at the venue. So there is a good vibe in and around. The rooms are very spacious and the beds very comfy.

There was LOTS of building and construction going on at the venue. So lots of tradie types in and around. Loads of smoking going on and quite often the sound of banging and power tools during the day. The breakfast location was a little hard to find initially as it was currently under renovation or something and moved to another area of the venue. The on site classes and facilities were also impossible to book or try and do but they advertise yoga classes and things all over. So a little annoyed we didn't get to try any classes. Breakfast was decent with some solid options and very nice view. Though they played 1 Taylor Swift on repeat the entire time we were sitting there and the same song basically every day... It got a little annoying. Also, if you are planning to walk around and into town it is about a 40 min walk BUT the venue offers a free shuttle every few hours into central Ubud which is lovely. All in all very happy with the stay though.

The rooms were well-appointed and spacious. Loved the concept of a partially outdoor washroom and showers, while ensuring complete privacy. Gives one the feeling of being close to nature. There are 6 pools but relatively small and cleanliness isn't a strong point. The water was not temperature controlled either, making it uncomfortable for kids. Breakfast needs a huge change as we had exactly the same breakfast menu on all 5 days of our stay. Also, there were flies around some of the food (mainly bread) left open.

While the property is amazing, the resort seems under-staffed and that shows in the lack of cleanliness. We opened the drawer to take a cup in order to make tea, but we could see dirt and spider-web around the cutlery, including inside the kettle. The staff did clean things up thoroughly once we brought it to their notice, but it shouldn't have been the case in the first place. While the rooms are right in the middle of greenery, it brings along with it mosquitoes. Having said that, the staff was pro-active and did provide us with mosquito repellants and the beds are covered by the net, which made our sleep comfortable.

I can’t recommend this hotel right now. It has so much potential but it feels as if it’s just reopened, the staff are trying to learn their jobs and most of the pools are under renovation. It was difficult to find a common area to relax and enjoy the jungle like scenery, which is the highlight of the hotel, because there is so much renovation going on. The good news is I didn’t hear any of this noise in my room (#21). Only one restaurant is open right now and the service is extremely slow. The included breakfast is ok, not many options to choose from and I found it odd no fruit is included my first few days but they did add half way through my 7 night stay. There was a retreat going on during my stay, which is fine, but given 80-90% of the guests were part of the retreat it wasn’t a great place to meet people, as a solo traveler and felt deserted when they were in their sessions. When they were out of session they took over the place and weren't inviting to anyone not part of the retreat. I get it, I do retreats and you're bonding with those you're in the experience with, so this isn't a criticism just rather pointing out it would be helpful to know events going on at the property before deciding if its a good time to stay. Finally, its pretty far from Ubud Centre & with traffic its 30-45 minutes one way I really wanted to love this property, again it has so much potential, and once the work is done to bring it back to its glory, I’m open to giving it another chance.
