"One of our favourite stays on our trip to NZ."

9.0

We had two separate nights here which bookended our time down in Fiordland and was nice to have a little bit of luxury after walking the Milford track. The evening happy hour which provides guests with the opportunity to mingle and share their adventures is a welcome touch too.

No cons noted.

"Three night couple stay"

8.0

The hotel was lovely and cozy. Great postion and not too noisy. Room was comfortable and clean with coffee/tea making facilities. Bed comfortable and good size. Bathroom shower good. One star dropped due to the problem with the toilet that kept running all the time and has a facebook wedged into it to stop it. This was not sorted in our 3 night stay and was annoying. Breakfast simple continental but very nice. In the lounge area they had a Happy Hour with free wine and snacks. Lovely gesture and was great for meeting other guests. Very nice touch. Parking is limited - we got a spot at a $25 per night charge, but not the easiest access. Only 2 guest spots so we were luck- presume you would have to go to the public parking if not. Very central and walkable to all main areas of Queenstown All in all, we had a lovely stay there, and if not for the toilet issue, would have been a 5*. Even allowing for that, it is still to be recommended.

"Great location, comfortable rooms, very good breakfast."

Nice staff. Good breakfast. Great lounge with snacks, happy hour, comfy chairs.

Toilet was leaking and the constant noise kept us awake at night. We informed the staff who seemed a bit unconcerned.

"Location, location, location!"

8.0

If The Dairy was for sale, the estate agents would be shouting ‘location, location, location’! Because that is the hotel key feature for guests. Accessibility to shops, stores, restaurants and the gondola is second to none. The hotel itself is a little tired, but is well run. Our room could have been bigger (particularly if you have two suitcases) and the ‘shower in the bath’ a bit passé. But bed and linen were good, the lounge comfortable, and the ‘happy hour’ a nice twist. Continental breakfast was rather underwhelming, with croissant with ham and cheese the only (and not particularly nice) croissant offering. Fresh fruit salad would have been a good idea. But overall, we were happy with our stay.
