Beautiful hotel, great location, amazing rooftop pool, great food, amazing staff and service

Great value

Il Capri Hotel was an amazing place to stay during our trip to Capri. It is conveniently located in the heart of the Piazzetta area and is walking distance from all the shops, cafes, restaurants, bus stop and funicular. The pool area has a stellar view of the island and they even have a rooftop restaurant and bar called Deviant. Our hotel room was always kept clean and they gave us complimentary water and a pastry for my wife and I. Definitely would recommend staying here.

To the Management and Owners of Il Capri Hotel, My Italian colleague – an attorney – and I were guests at your hotel from May 27 to May 29. I am compelled to inform you that we left with a deep sense of disappointment, feeling that we had been shamelessly misled. The service and interior of your hotel clearly do not meet the declared 5-star standard. I have been a practicing attorney for over 30 years, and one of my clients is a chain of certified 4- and 5-star hotels. I know very well how difficult it is to obtain a five-star rating in a civilized country, how demanding it is to maintain it, and how easy it is to lose it. Moreover, my colleague – an Italian lawyer – is an official legal representative of AICA (Italian Association of Hotel Chains) and is personally familiar with their classification procedures and compliance standards. Our disappointment began when the bellboy confused our luggage and delivered it to the wrong rooms. Admittedly, this could be written off as the inattention of a single staff member. However, the carpets in the rooms were old, dirty, and had an unpleasant odor. In the bathroom, there were no complimentary essential toiletries – something that is absolutely required for a hotel claiming to be five-star. On the morning of May 28, my colleague attempted to use the swimming pool for a quick refreshing swim before our important meeting at 9:00 AM. Hotel staff denied him access, stating that the pool only opens at 9:00 AM. Later that same day, in the evening, I personally asked to use the pool to unwind after a long day and help me sleep better. Once again, I was refused, with staff saying the pool was already closed. The next morning, on May 29 at 08:40, I politely asked the front desk if I could use the pool just a few minutes early so I could be refreshed for a meeting scheduled at 9:30 AM.

Everything great, great location, staff excellent!

We had the most fabulous stay! The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive to our every need. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, and had great recommendations for dining on the island. The hotel is centrally located in the best area of Capri and is a quick walk to excellent shopping and dining. We were also surprised when the hotel left us the most beautiful flowers to congratulate us on our wedding a few days prior. The food and cocktails at the restaurant were enjoyable as well. We will definitely come back to stay here again!

As part of a trip through Italy we booked a 2 night stay here but had to make late amendments as our infant daughter became ill and joined us on our trip. All accommodations bar Il Capri helped us either amend or cancel our bookings – many booked under the same terms. Il Capri hid behind their policies advising they would not check us in if we arrived and refused to cancel our booking. They took our money and ran leaving us having to source emergency accommodation with a sick infant. They became threatening when challenged. I would not recommend based on how they treated me and my family and would advise them to learn from their peers.
