Candlewood Suites Lafayette by IHG

I liked the pool, and using the kitchen equipment. The room was big enough for my family, including a travel crib.

I found a cockroach on the wall. After I killed it, I didn’t notice any others.

Upon arrival, you could smell marijuana in the parking lot. Checkin was fine. Staff was great, but reserved a Queen Suite with two Queen beds, and ended up with an “upgrade” which was a Suite with one Queen bed and the World’s most uncomfortable pullout sofa. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms, so we made due with what we had and shared the bed. Unsure if there was a price difference and was told there was no receipt, because I would get that through the third party… weird. Unfortunately we also had a room that smelled HEAVILY of cigarette smoke in the bathroom, for the entirety of our stay. Closing the door helped, but then when you opened it, it about knocked you out. Keeping the door open allowed it to waft about the room. There was no avoiding it. Overall, it was an okay stay.

They did not have a breakfast, that was the only disappointment. We were on the second floor, it had a little not very clean smell.

The smell of the hallways smelled kind of nasty. That was on the second floor. First floor was fine. I think the halls need a little more cleaning, or better cleaning.
