Holiday Inn Express & Suites Childress by IHG

We enjoyed getting to watch a roadrunner as we loaded our car. The entrace through the Walmart parking lot was unique.

The location was good because it was set back from the road, which reduced the constant noise from large trucks. The staff were pleasant and attentive and had our room keys ready at check-in. The area was safe. The breakfast area was clean, and there was a good assortment of options. Our room had a microwave and refrigerator. The hotel itself and our room, in particular, needed TLC and repair. The bathroom had a lot of mold, and the shower did not drain. All the walls were chipped and poorly painted; the floor coverings and the tile in the bathroom were in poor condition. The safety lock to our door had been broken previously and poorly repaired. For the price and the brand name, I expected better from the condition of the hotel.

Maybe the visitors during my stay but letting to doors close all night long was a distraction and a negative.

Very loud. We could hear neighbors above and beside us walking around. Our door has a large gap in the bottom which let in a lot of light at night.

The staff was very pleasant. The hotel itself is undergoing renovations, so the bathrooms by the lobby were in rough shape as well as the bathroom in our room. I'm sure it will be nice once it is finished, but $180 is a lot to pay for a hotel that is under renovations.

We loved the pool! The breakfast was great & the front desk people were very friendly!

Not much that I didn’t like.. the only thing was the doors close loudly so at night when I was sleeping we heard the neighbors doors close.
