Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Airport

The free airport shuttle. The common areas were nice. The gym was small but clean and functional. I liked that there was a restaurant on site. I liked the free parking.

I wasn't told on check in that housekeeping would be every other day. The food and drink from the on site restaurant was expensive and mediocre. The coffee and "hot water" in the lobby was not always hot. The rooms were dated while the common areas looked updated.

Nice hotel, good location. It has a good restaurant downstairs. Kristie at the front desk is great but that guy at the bar with a funny haircut is pretty rude. Would stay here again !

The facility itself was nice and a great location. The purpose of selecting this location was for the hot tub and indoor pool. I saw the pool open upon my early arrival. When I return later that afternoon to check-in I was told the hot tub and pool closed early. Bummer because Saturday we really needed either of those for relaxation. We decided to vist the bar for a drink and saw a teenager wet and her dad said they decided to open the pool. When I asked Ms. Nina why she didn't call to inform me they decided to reopen the pool her only true response was "it will be open tomorrow". Sunday was not an option because we had events to attend. Also the coffee area was a mess that evening with trash overflowing and open packets etc on the table. I informed the desk staff and he did not move. I also informed him that our refrigerator was not working but maintenance never came the next day. Sunday, the iron was working then made a terrible noise and stopped working. My friend went to get coffee Sunday morning and there was none. The staff saw her and didn't offer assistance. I had to call the desk and ask if coffee was being served. Maybe the staff needs a refresher training.

Our check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. Our room was nice and cool when we got in which was really nice since it was and incredibly hot day. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. This is not a complaint of any kind on the hotel but there are no resturants besides the one in the hotel that are walkable. But the hotel coffee in the lobby was always available and it was really good.

Bartender was aggressive and lacked any sort of customer service skills. Probably not his calling in life…

I've been here before but keep forgetting that I'm not a fan. The gentleman checking in before me chose his room on the app, but it wasn't available when he arrived as it had been given away. I paused a moment and sat back down to see what rooms were available. There were roughly 25 left, 9 of them upgrades. I checked in and for the third time this year, no upgrade was offered. Not sure what you have to do get a comp upgrade. Maybe three crappy rooms in a year qualifies you. If so, I'm looking forward to my next stay. Likely not. The desk told me this morning that you have to ask for an upgrade. Can't you see my loyalty to Hilton with my 10 years as a diamond member, my 2 million points or the fact that I keep coming back to this particular property? I am not the guy to ask for an upgrade unless I'm traveling for leisure and I would never ask for one at these lower end Hiltons. If it happens, I'm grateful, but an upgrade at a garden inn is likely a higher floor, away from an ice maker or a room with a sofa. Never have I ever gotten that at this hotel.
