Hotel Derby

The hosts are wonderful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. We are very satisfied with the service 🙂

Hotel Derby is a family-run hotel in Lugana (part of Sirmione). It is very well maintained, the rooms were spotlessly cleaned every day. The breakfast was very good. The hotel car park has only 8 parking lots but there is a free public parking opposite the hotel on the other side of the street. The owners Laura and Sergio are very nice people, always smiling and very helpful. During our stay there was a heavy hailstorm that damaged all the cars (front and rear windscreens broken on all the cars in the region). After the hailstorm ended Sergio covered all the cars with plastic foils to prevent other damages. We had tickets to opera in Verona (35 km from Sirmione) and our car was unusable. Sergio offered to pick us up after the opera ends (after midnight) and drive us back to the hotel. Laura and Sergio are definitely the kindest and the most helpful hosts we have ever met. Thank you, Laura and Sergio !

The couple who managed the hotel were both very friendly and welcoming. They were helpful in offering us guidance, for example when taking buses, hiring bikes and pointing out places to visit. Breakfast was filling and very good. Our room was spotlessly clean and we had clean towels each day.

I cannot think of anything that we didn't like at the hotel.

Laura and Sergio are great hosts! Always with a smile an ready to help you know how to travel/visit around Garda lake and checking if you have everything you need. Thank you very much for everything!

Sometimes the air conditioning was quite noisy maybe do to using it in maximum level.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Went to the trouble of making me a pack up breakfast twice as I had to leave early for 2 days of my stay.

It’s a bit far out of the town centre, about a 45 minute walk. However it’s very pleasant walking alongside the lake and didn’t really bother me.

The owners are lovely...the setting near the lake fantastic...the buffet breakfast amazing.

A great hotel to stay at just metres from Lake Garda. With comfortable beds, the room was clean and the breakfast was excellent. Free parking was a bonus. The best thing about the hotel was that the owners live at the hotel and made our stay very homely. They made us feel welcome and did everything to make our stay memorable. They also provided great tourist options for us to do. We will be back at this hotel for sure on our next Italy trip
