This hotel exceeded our expectations entirely. The hotel itself sits on a vineyard, and the view from our balcony was of vineyards and surrounding valley and mountains. Beautiful. We ate at the hotel restaurant on New Years Eve and we were BLOWN AWAY. Honestly one of our best meals during our 2 week trip to Austria, Germany and Italy. Great hotel lounge area for cocktails or after-dinner drinks as well. The hotel is located just 5 minutes drive to the center of Bolzano. We had a car rental, which made it very easy (free parking) but it sounds like with public transportation and taxi service it would not be difficult to do this without a car. We do not recommend walking back and forth during winter months (too cold, and a little too far) but during summer this is very doable (25 minutes walk) and enjoyable by bike or on foot. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with all requests, reservations, accommodations. Just a really great stay at a really great hotel, and we would definitely return without hesitation. This vineyard produces excellent wine (we enjoyed during our new years dinner there). We only wish we had time to tour the vineyard during our stay... but we'll be back :)

A most pleasant surprise. We arrived later and were warmly welcomed by the man at the front desk. It was Monday, so they were closed for dinner. He gave us a few recommendations of where to go and how to get there. We followed his advice and had a great time and excellent meal. The breakfast the following day was good, too. Room was clean and comfortable with a glorious view. We would definitely come back and highly recommend!

We stayed here for just one night whilst travelling from Germany to Lake Garda, as a family of four (two adults & two teenagers), & really enjoyed it.Hotel is a 20 minute walk from the centre of town, but is easily manageable. Room, with a balcony & mezzanine bedroom was really good. We used the pool which was lovely & breakfast the next day was really full. Top marks & thank you.

Air conditioning wasn't working very well and the beds were uncomfortably hard compared to U.S.

We stayed at Magdelenerhof for 2 nights, I wished we could have stayed forever! Every aspect of the view, foyer, restaurant, bar and the room was impeccable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing haven in bolzano.

Spacious rooms, good light, just outside of town, excellent restaurant, very helpful staff and owners. We were there in early May and had a very reasonable rate.

the hotel has great rooms in a pretty surrounding. Hotel Restaurant / Bar is very convenient and has a great deal of local specialities available.

Magdalenerhof is a high quality property from the front desk to the bed linens. The dining room is quite good, and the seating on the outside has a good view. The breakfast buffet is fabulous! There is a very clean outdoor pool with lounge chairs in the sun or shade. The bus going downtown leaves in front of the hotel. They have a new building under construction next door also. Even with the windows open, it was very quiet for sleeping. My only criticism involves little English spoken at the front desk. There was another staff person called in who spoke excellent English.

This is a very nice hotel in all respects except for the small air conditioning unit which is not large enough to cool the room. A great place to stay unless you are going in the middle of a heat wave in summer!
