Awesome stay! Loved the customer service, very helpful for travelers! Bar downstairs is friendly and happy! Although the way from town is uphill to the hotel, it was not a bad walk! Would definitely recommend!

I agree with Keith's review from March 2014; this was the best place we stayed during a 3 week trip in Austria and NE Italy. We spent 3 nights there (longest of any place we stayed) but next time would love to spend a full week. Staff was very helpful, especially the young man named Wesley. Setting was beautiful, breakfast on the patio in the morning sun was delicious, bountiful and serene. Polenta (creamy style) with mushrooms was superb. Nearby Otzi museum and Messner Mountain Museum @ Firmian Castle are both very interesting, and I wish we had had more time there. And of course the Dolomites are just spectacular. Local bus (route #1) stops right by hotel and is very convenient. Overall, a great stay!

My husband and I took the train to Bolzano from Munich just for a quick 2 day getaway. Our stay at the Magdalenerhof was everything we wanted and more. Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist (Wesley) was not only friendly, but gave us the best recommendations for places to visit and things to see while in Bolzano. The room was classically clean and chic, with a terrace that led out into the garden, veranda, and pool area. The view of the surrounding vineyards and mountains was breathtaking! We also ate dinner there, which was fantastic, with a good variety of local specialties and an assortment of time honored traditional pizzas. When (not if) we return to Bolzano, we will be staying at the Magdalenerhof once again.

We were on a touring holiday of Austria and Italy and this was one of our favourite hotels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel on one evening and it was warm enough to eat on the terrace. The food was delicious and the setting was beautiful. Although not in the centre of Bolzano, it is only a 15 minute walk into town and taxis are not prohibitively expensive (we took one back to the hotel at around 11pm and it cost 8 euros). There are also regular buses during the day costing a standard 1.5 euros per trip.

Hotel very pleasant with excellent restaurant facilities and underground parking for motorcycle. Area of Bolzano rather industrial albeit a useful stop over to reach better areas

The hotel`s location is next to a vinyard. Walking distamce to Bolzano city center. Excellent hotel !!!

For a reasonable price, our room was the largest and best equipped for this European trip. The facilities were modern and comfortable. Beds were comfortable, bath was roomy and had modern equipment, a small porch had two chairs and a small table - good for morning coffee or evening drink. We enjoyed it.

It was a nice hotel, with a friendly, helpful staff. Only problem, we got lost in downtown trying to find the place. It worked out in the end, and I would stay there again.

We added this hotel based on a hotels.com search from our room in Salzburg. We weren't all that into Salzburg and decided to cut our stay short by one day and book another city between there and our next destination. We liked the look, Bolzano was perfectly located so we booked it for the next night. Of the 7 hotels we stayed in during our 5 country 7 hotel adventure, Magdalenerhof turned out to be our favorite. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the hotel was beautiful. The views in every direction were awesome and the location was just close enough to the action yet far enough away for real peace and quiet. The food was very good too. Bolzano was a really cool town with lots to do and see as well as some great driving roads nearby. I could not recommend this hotel (and town) highly enough and we plan to go back.
