Hotel Paradiso

beautiful little town that is not overrun with tourists , if you want to see a classic Italian village with lots to see and do then this is the place to go. 30 minutes from the train station in La Spezia.

Family room was small with a mezzanine level for kids with extremely low ceiling with exposed beams. Heads were knocked often. Our older daughter could touch the ceiling when sitting up on her bed! The hotel is located near shops, restaurants we could walk to everything. The rooms are dated but clean. Breakfast was good.

Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Great view from our room. Beautiful breakfast

Upon waking up to the morning light, I opened my eyes to see the most amazing sunrise..... the water, the gently moored boats, the rising sun. I couldn't have imagined it to be any more perfect! The hotel itself is very nice with a clean, comfortable bathroom, slippers, etc. Beds are comfortable and nice, crisp linens. The location is beyond perfect as well- steps from the town center where you find the bars and restaurants and a grocery store as well as St. Peters church and Byron's Grotto which is where I spent the evening watching one of the top ten sunsets I've ever witnessed (and I've been around the world and lived in Hawaii and Southern California so I've seen some amazing sunsets in my life!)!! Stay here! You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful location and views.

The Hotel Paradiso is lovely. We were not aware that the season ended at the end of October and wished we could have been there when there were more things to do on the water.

Wonderful experience, very helpful staff made it a real pleasure. Laundry was done quickly and cheaply, and the hotel was extremely helpful in returning a Europcar GPS unit I left charging in the room, enabling me to be reimbursed the full cost of the GPS. Would not hesitate to recommend the Paradiso to anyone considering a vacation in Porto Venere. Thanks in particular to Desiree!

Loved the location and the atmosphere. Best hotel we had in all of our Italian traveling! Can't wait to come back here and stay a little longer. We did stay in October so we had the entire town to ourselves. It was very neat.

Let's face it, you are paying for the view and it does not disappoint. If you have trouble with stairs and carrying your luggage, then try to find another place, though that may be hard in this hillside town. The breakfast was good with made-to-order eggs and squeeze-your-own juice. We had a teenie, small room over the breakfast room roof. My college dorm room had more character. But all the necessities were there. I was glad we were over the small roof when I accidentally dropped my shoe out the window. They sent someone up right away to fetch it with a pole. Location excellent: walk to everything.
