We booked Buca di Bacco directly 10 months in advance and splurged on an ocean view room on the 5th floor—it was absolutely worth it! The view was stunning, and the location is perfect: just a 3-minute walk from the Positano ferry dock if you’re arriving from Salerno or Sorrento, and situated at the base of the town for easy access. The room was clean and perfect, with excellent housekeeping. They provide four bottles of water, and the minibar drinks are included. As a personal touch for a high-end property like theirs, I would love to see a fruit plate or baked goods offered upon arrival. Breakfast was included and served daily on the terrace, featuring a fantastic spread of fresh baked goods, fresh juices, and unlimited coffee and tea. As a direct booking perk, we received two complimentary glasses of wine at the terrace bar (5–6 PM) and one day of complimentary beach chairs and umbrella—towels were provided in a beach bag. We also enjoyed two meals at the hotel’s restaurant, receiving a 10% discount for booking directly. For luggage, we carried our own bags on arrival (good workout!), though porter service is available for €15 per bag. On departure, if using a private shuttle from Mandara Garage (mid-hill), arranging a porter is essential, costing €20 per bag at night. The front desk was very helpful in coordinating this. Overall, the hotel’s location, room, and food were excellent. Perfect for couples who want to stay at the base of Positano, close to the ferry, with easy access to the town and beaches. Book well in advance to get the best rates!

So much to like. Very very easy to get to from the ferry. Walking distance from ferry with very few steps to climb. The view from our room was everything I hoped for. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the sea and Positano. Breakfast had everything you could want....eggs, bacon, meats, fruits, sweet and or savory breads, juice and coffees. The restaurant was also very good with incredible views.

This hotel is definitely a 5 star experience. It is pricey but if you are splurging to go to Positano it’s worth it. From the high quality service, breakfast, rooms, it’s all top notch with a special attention to detail. I highly recommend this hotel and it’s right on Spiaggia Grande as an added bonus

Staff was extremely kind, and helpful! Enjoyed the location and the breakfast was excellent! Cappuccino were incredible!

The staff at front desk especially Mario was excellent and the staff at breakfast like Roberto, Catello, Amadou and Marina were very attentive to our needs. The only annoying thing is that my daughter found a pubic hair weaved into the threads of one of the face towels which had just been put in the bathroom by the cleaners. I took this up with the Manager but he was not very helpful. He said certain things he should not have said and I think he thought I planted the pubic hair there and was trying to get some money off!
