Hotel Sovestro

Location is great, especially for people who like to stretch their legs (25-30min nice and easy walk up to San Gimignano, walking trail). One must have a car to go anywhere else though (Siena, Volterra, Chianti region in ca.30-40min). Parking available. Breakfast was wonderful and tasty, plenty to choose from. Hotel is super clean and all staff is nice. Nice outdoor pools.

Beds are a bit on a harder side and they have the sheets+wool blanket kind of bedding. No ordinary hotel duvets + duvet covers. I was a bit disappointed with the dinner in the hotel restaurant. I expected more from a Michelin recommended restaurant. Food was ok but nothing outstanding.

Das Hotel hat unsere Vorstellungen mehr als übertroffen. Gefallen hat uns besonders die tolle Lage. Die Stadt Gimignano war mit dem hauseigenen Shuttle oder zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man spürte, dass das Hotel im Familienbesitz war und wir schätzten die familiäre Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich für ein Drei-Sterne-Haus. Wir können das Hotel und die danebenliegende Tenuta nur weiterempfehlen.

Jammern auf hohem Niveau: die Plastikbecher für Getränke im Zimmer und beim Frühstück waren wenig umweltfreundlich.

Spacious and clean rooms. The hotel is quiet, with a good breakfast and a convenient parking area. It’s also not far from the city and wineries. For such a reasonable price, it’s a really very good option. I would definitely recommend it.
