"A return to the grand tour"

To visit Stresa is to peek back at what tourism was for our Edwardian ancestors on their grand tours. The promenade alongside Lake Maggiore is lined by grand hotels the first of which is the Bristol. Inside the Bristol you are transported back to a modernised version of that kind of hotel. Grand is the word, but looking at its neighbouring hotel, not the grandest. This was an enjoyable experience and I would repeat it willingly.The situation is magnificent, they have used shrubbery to carefully screen the garage and the swimming pool area for increased privacy and to improve The facade.

"A last-minute overnighter, then another one"

Booked an overnight last week to take a break on a longer trip, and ended up doing the same on my return, as I really liked the hotel and found the price/value ratio excellent. Particularly impressive is the vast and beautiful pool area. Wish it was open past 8pm in the summer, though.

Our stay was a wonderful experience into the life of everyday Italians and surrounded by scenic lake views for our balcony, great chefs that prepared fabulous seafood and even had a 3 day street fare that was fun!

Is not what I expected. No air conditioning the balcony door have to be open to get air and is noisy outside. There was a mistake from my part regarding the date of the reservation due to the change of hours so I paid for a room one night while I was flying.
