Hotel Centro

Essendo arrivato alle ore 23,00 mi hanno lasciato in mezzo alla strada. Inutile suonare il campanello e chiamare gli svariati numeri di telefono scritti sulla porta. Come se non bastasse... Mi hanno anche addebitato il costo della camera. Inutile anche l'intervento di Hotels per convincerli a desistere!!

This hotel is very far from the center of Florence although they advertise being closer than they are.  The buses are not very reliable in terms of timing as far as getting you to and from Florence easily.  The fifteen minutes mentioned to Florence in the advertisements is actually referring to the outskirts of Florence.  The center is usually more like thirty to forty minutes or even an hour sometimes to the city center by bus, and that's if the bus even arrives on time.  The area in which the hotel is located is very run down, uncomfortable, unsafe, especially for women and children, and not very clean or sanitary.  The hotel staff are very nice.  The family who run it are very sweet.  But they need to be more knowledgeable as far as how to navigate within the area and into the center of Florence.  There is not always someone at the hotel who speaks English.  And there is no one available at the hotel desk from 10 or 11 pm until 7am daily.  You have to enter a password at the front door to let yourself in and if you forget the password, you are locked out.  If you need help between those hours at night, you have to wait until morning before you can get assistance. You must check in before those times, otherwise you will not get in and will have to wait until the morning.  The bathrooms and flooring need work and the breakfast provided is minimal and not worth the price.  Though this is advertised as a hotel, it has more of a hostel like atmosphere with private bathrooms and rooms, at the price of a hotel.

The staff at hotel Centro was friendly! Although the check in was up to 8pm, I arrived late due to the traffic in at the train station, however I let them know that I was still coming in. The downside of the hotel is that it is far from the city. We took the bus to get there it took about 40 minutes, the location is not bad but you want to arrange to get in time at least when you are check in, once you get there you have to walk at least 10- 15 min and if you are carrying luggage and don't know where this address is exactly, you can get lost easily. I was able to find people to help us how to get there, but since this is an small town, most of the business are closed before 8pm. I will suggest this hotel for the maximum of a night or two the most.

intransigenza su check in e check out, mancanza di parcheggio, albergo vecchio e stile b&b, impossibile fare una doccia... scarichi completamente otturati, reception sospesa dopo le 20, vengono messi a disposizione tre numeri per le emergenze ma non risponde nessuno.Ma come fanno a dargli 3 stelle??? di gran lunga tra i peggiori alberghi mai visti!!!

The hotel is 12 km far from Florence and it takes round about 40 min to the train station by bus. My room, as the entire hotel, had a terrible smell of cigarette. There was no box in the shower, so all the toilet got wet. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

We took one bus (#30) directly from the rail station and were incredible pleased with the Hotel and the surrounding community. This is a family business and they go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Get out of the hustle and bustle and relax at the Hotel Centro.

The room was quite big and clean but almost at outside temperature +13 - +15c . The room was parfymized by some kind of electrical dispencer. The parfyme was really strong and we had to open windows to already freezing room for hours to get some fresh air in. I tought the breakfast was included but no cup of coffee and a bread was on par or even more expensive than from real restaurants. The staff could not understand my question "is there something interesting to see nearby?" English skills were very basic.

It was small but clean and it was air conditioned which was great, the bathroom were small but we made due.you know you only there for a little bit of time.it was hard to find,because a lot of 1 way streets.the staff was great and friendly.it was in a piazza,and we hit the right time when they were having flea markets at night,the bread store was great and the shops were nice too.we are thinking of going again soon.

This hotel is what you pay for. However, it is not at all near Florence so do not book if that is where you would like to be most of the time. It is at least a 30 minute bus ride 1 way and in an empty neighborhood (for tourists).

Although we enjoyed the city, the hotel smelled like urine and the bathrooms felt somewhat dirty. Very far from Florence and only two buses run to it (sometimes).
