Hôtel Amista Marseille (ancien Hôtel Saint-Louis Vieux Port)

Mon séjour à l'hôtel fût une réelle catastrophe, chambre sous les combles qui s'apparente plus à une chambre de bonnes que chambre d'hôtel que j'ai pourtant payé plein pot. Pas de fenêtre mais un velux, couette d'hiver en plein mois d'août, accès à la chambre sans ascenseur mais par un escalier long et étroit, pas de lumière dans la salle de bain, chambre mansardée ou je me suis cognée la tête plusieurs fois. Je n'ai pas dormi de la nuit car la température de la chambre était soit trop froide (clim) ou trop chaude (si j'éteignais la clim). Equipe non professionnelle qui n’a même pas demandé au check-out si la nuit c’était bien passée. A fuir !

Location was central, Hotel itself was nice and we appreciated having an elevator. The front desk staff was friendly (though didn’t speak much English). The neighborhood the hotel is situated in can be quite busy/chaotic. May be my mismatched expectations, but it looked like a pretty quaint street from the photos. There were many fast food stalls and foot traffic outside.

Perfect location, room with enough space. Missed a minibar/fridge.

The hotel was small and dirty. Minimal amenities. Had hoped for a lot more judging by the photos.

The location was central to many restaurants and shops. The room was very basic. The room could have been cleaner. A shelf in the bathroom would have be useful to put stuff on instead of using the floor. The service at the restaurant was extremely slow even though the restaurant was pretty empty.

We spent 4nights here on our trip to Marseille. t is in a very convenient sport just a short walk from the old port and near to many good restaurants and bars. The room was very small but manageable enough with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water at all times and it was nice and clean. There was no view but windows were openable which we preferred rather than using the air conditioning. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but breakfast and evening meals looked good. The bar was good and reasonably priced. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English, which as good for us! I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

I had such a lovely stay here - from a convenience point of view, it is superbly located minutes away from the Old Port and within walking distance to most sights and museums. It is also conveniently located to train station, tram and bus access to take you to other parts of the city and beyond. From the actual hotel point of view I could not have asked for anything better. The room was clean and had all the amenities I would need but over and above the staff were absolutely fantastic - all those that I met were incredibly helpful and polite - from the lady who checked us in allowing us to keep our bags in the room even though we were early, and accommodated my request for a room higher up, the lovely gentleman who did his very best for me to find me a table where we could eat bouillabaisse, another kind gentleman who helped get us a taxi, the cleaners who did a wonderful job - the list is endless. I would definitely book there if ever in Marseille again and would certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a convenient, clean hotel in the heart of the city.

Really lovely hotel and well situated in the town, this does mean a bit of noise that you will get in a big city but it was fine. We were particularly impressed by the size of our room and bathroom compared to our precious stay in Marseille.
