Resort La Francesca

The views and location were great.

Facilities were pleasant but dated. Rooms very basic with no air conditioning. The fan in the bedroom was the only source air circulation along with having to keep windows open. We would not have wanted to be there in the height of summer.

La struttura è sulle colline di Bonassola, raggiungibile tramite strada di montagna stretta ma asfalata. Sono arrivata in serate e ho trovato una busta per il late check in. La camera che mi è stata assegna aveva la serratura difettosa e entrare in stanza non è stato agevole. La camera non aveva ne sapone per lavare le stoviglie ne spugnette. Solo la scopa per pulire. In bagno è comparsa una specie di gatta pelesa, e la mattina seguente le formiche. Il parcheggio ( a pagamento) non è custodito e scarsamente segnalato. Sei praticamente obbligato a pagarlo perchè intorno non vi sono posteggi. L'unico pregio, la tranquillità e il silenzio.

A beautiful location, right on the Mediterranean Sea. Individual units are private. Parking was convenient by European standards. Staff was quickly responsive to requests.

Le site est merveilleux, à l’écart des foules des Cinque Terres. Il faut une voiture car sans être très loin de Levento, ce n’est pas accessible facilement à pied. Bâti sur la montagne qui plonge jusqu’à la mer, le resort la domine et offre des vues magnifiques. L’architecte à construit les villas à deux chambres trop près les unes des autres et si vous n’en avez pas une en première ligne, vous avez une vue très intrusive des toits de celles devant. Ce fut notre cas au 623 ! Grande piscine en partie haute du resort (n’oubliez pas votre bonnet de bain). Une autre piscine près de la mer, pour les enfants, mais elle était fermée pour notre séjour du 11 au 14/09/2022. Accès à la mer avec une plage de galets, qui se mérite à la remontée ! Excellent restaurant chez Leonardo avec une immense terrasse pour admirer la mer et les couchés de soleil (remontée idem à celle de la plage !). Le garçon qui gère le resort est super gentil, aimable, serviable. Tout serait donc presque parfait si les villas avaient été modernisées depuis leur création. Tout est vieux, pas très propre et avec de nombreux dysfonctionnements. Pas de clim, l’été ce doit être intenable ! C’est vraiment dommage. Un grand coup de neuf est vraiment nécessaire !

Mon compagnon s’etait occupé de la réservation et il pensait que c’était un hôtel. Et bien non! Nous considérons l’endroit comme un camping. Notre logement était très vétuste et je ne pensais plus jamais revoir une petite télé cathodique qui n’était même pas réglée. Nous avons été envahi de fourmis. Pas de climatisation, juste un ventilateur bruyant au plafond dans la chambre. A plus de 150€/nuit (j’inclus les 8€/jour pour le parking) je trouve cela très cher. En points positifs : endroit calme, beau point de vue et grande piscine (attention bonnet de bain obligatoire qui peut être acheté à 2,5€ sur place.

On internet they have used pictures from long, long time ago. The football field is a desert by now. In the little children pool is no water at all. The private beach is a pebble / rocky piece of shore where you need shoes to enter the water. And hopefully the waves dont throw you back against the rocks upon entry. The cabin is old and there is nothing to keep you cool. Owner claims that he prefers the fresh sea breeze. Well if there would be a breeze at all it was still 35+ degrees in the cabin. Very very small kitchen, ridiculous small and expensive shop and no other facilities at all. Everything is very steep and will take a lot of energy to come somewhere. And that for 1650 euro per week. A cash cow we call that. Never, never never again. The owner should be more transparant or invest in an upgrade as this is not even a 1 star facility. Only positive part is that you might be able to see the sea. And if you have bad luck, hear the neigbours above or below you (as you can not see on the website pictures)......

This is a delightfully sprawling resort comprised of a collection of individual cottages nestled on a verdant hillside leading down to a private and unspoiled beach. There is a large salt-water pool, a small shop for essentials, a bar for breakfast, and an excellent restaurant on site. Further afield, a host of picturesque seaside towns, beaches, and a wealth of top-notch restaurants are just a short drive from the property. Do note that while Resort La Francesca allows dogs, it can't be said to welcome them. They are not allowed off the leash at any time nor able to be present on the outside terrace, by the pool, or on the beach. As a result, I was largely unable to join my family swimming or for breakfast - although our dog appeared happy to sit with me and consider the view on our balcony.
