Common areas have been updated and are very nice (in line with the quality you would expect from the hotel). The rooms are old and tired. The staff were very pleasant.

I paid a very affordable standard room rate, and I was satisfied. Basic, clean, but no frills. If these are your expectations, then go for it. I think the harbor view rooms are a lot nicer than what I rented, however. The staff was nice, too, and the location was right on the harbor, though there aren't too many restaurant options within walking distance. Note that the hotel breakfast is a bit lackluster, so I recommend paying for this separately rather than a room with a breakfast rate.

The good thing about this hotel was the breakfast and the location. The staff were not very helpful. I had booked a twin room but this was denied on arrival. I pointed it out on the paperwork but they still treated me like I had done something wrong. Evenentually agreed to move us next day to a twin. Room very basic.

This hotel has recently been tastefully refurbished and is in a great location overlooking the marina. Several nice restaurants nearby - I recommend Le Max. I was on business so was only there one night. Rooms are quite basic but comfortable and good size. Breakfast was good too.

Really nice hotel. Rooms (sea view ones, at least - didn't see others) clean and fresh. Right on marina, great for boat watching. Five minutes to station, one minute to bus stops so v easy access to Nice, Monaco etc.

Whoever criticized in earlier reports of pigeon droppings and other exterior uncleanliness has not seen the new hotel after Mar 31/12. All is new and attractive outside, including the pool and outside terraces. The interior, at least rooms facing the water, are new and excellently appointed. As is the lobby and breakfast area.Room is quiet from traffic with door closed. 10 minutes from either Nice or Monaco by nearby train. Staff was all friendly, helpful and spoke English.

My husband and I just returned from 5 nights at Hotel Frisia. We were planning on only staying 3 nights, then heading east or west to experience another area. We enjoyed it the area and the hotel so much we opted to extend our stay. The hotel is perfectly situated in front of a marina with shops and nice quaint restaurants (open late). A block up the hill is a grocery store, along with the train station. There is also a bus stop is located just in front of the hotel which goes to Nice and/or Monaco - so either direction you wish. There's also a nice beach just a couple blocks away. The hotel itself is charming, older, but very clean and had everything we needed. The staff was very kind and accommodating to any request we had. This kind of service surely sets them apart from their competition and will certainly be the reason we go back.

EXCELLENT ACCOMODATION IN THE RENOVATED ROOMS WITH EITHER A SEA OR MOUNTAIN VIEW. CAN BE A BIT NOISY IN THE FRONT (SEA VIEW) BUT THIS IS COUNTERBALANCED BY THE VIEW AND THE MORNING SUNSHINE. A GOOD PLACE TO STAY !
