Medplaya Hotel Regente

Me and my mate stayed here may 14-17th, hotel was lovely & clean, our room was on the top floor and the views were great. The resturant & the food was great, just 5 minutes walk to the beach etc. The man on reception through the night was great after my friend had a fall. Will definately be back hopefully next May 2027 👍

We stayed in the regente 6 years ago and was hoping it had improved. As someone who has been visiting Benidorm regularly for 20 years and has stayed in multiple hotels it’s easy to compare. We traveled as a family of 3 with a 2 year old. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, there is zero faults when it comes to cleanliness. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the hotel/pool area, again are immaculate/faultlessly clean. There was never a queue at the bar so it was quick and easy to get a drink. The location is perfect, as it’s out of the way of all the hustle and bustle and is more towards the family area of Benidorm, away from all the trouble & madness. Plenty of shops & restaurants within minutes walk. And the beach is a 10 minute walk down the road. There’s a kids pools that was suitable for my 2 year old and a very small area with a slide but apart from that, there’s nothing else for children in the hotel. There’s no children’s entertainment or activities for children, I would not class this hotel as family friendly and is more catered for adults. However I have to say the entertainment team themselves are a nice bunch of people and always spoke to my son. Some of the kids in the hotel looked fed up and bored at times. The animation/entertainment team did however make an effort one of the nights and played some music that my little boy enjoyed which we are super grateful for but apart from that he was bored, as a 2 year old little boy full of energy he was easily becoming frustrated because there was nothing for him to do or entertain him. There’s absolutely nothing for children to do. The food in this hotel is genuinely diabolical and was a huge let down for us, that’s coming from someone who has stayed in over 20 hotels here in Benidorm. The breakfast & snack bar saved us but the rest was genuinely shocking, I’m not a picky eater and can always find something in hotels but it was shocking. There is ZERO food options for kids, there is a sign in the restaurant for a kids food area but it was never available, it got to the point we had to speak with the restaurant manager who kindly arranged for the kitchen to make our son some chicken nuggets, that’s all they could offer. They did pizza luckily on 1 night but it was inedible and rock solid, it’s like it was stale. My 2 year old has eaten nothing from this hotel, simply because there were no options for him. We’ve ended up going out and buying food for him. One night there was chicken kebab on offer, when I got back to the table and looked at it closely the chicken was raw. Hats off to the restaurant manager though because we found him really friendly & helpful. We spoke to so many people in the hotel and everyone agreed the food was shocking. You could see peoples faces in the restaurant when they walked around and you could hear peoples conversations about how bad the food is. This is not a family friendly hotel and is catered more for adults/elderly. During the last few days of our holiday more stag parties and large group of lads turned up so the pool area got louder and rowdy. On Friday night there was shouting, banging, screaming and loud music going off for hours which we could hear, it got to the point we had to complain at reception because it was getting worse & worse and keeping our little boy awake. We’ve had a lovely holiday but would not return to the regente. It’s NOT family friendly, it’s a shame because the hotel has so much potential. Our last day around the pool today was ruined by a group of lads, 20 plus of them shouting, swearing, causing absolute carnage around the pool and backwards and forwards to the toilet every 2 minutes taking cocaine. We were in the pool with our 2 year old and they were all bombing in drunk and had no idea what they were doing. My husband took our little boy to the toilet to change his nappy and was greeted by a group of the lads passing cocaine around, in a pool side bathroom that children use!! We spoke with the receptionist but nothing got done. This is supposed to be a family friendly hotel. We spent alot of our hard earned money to pay for this hotel and it was sadly ruined! Thank the lord we are leaving tomorrow!!

We normally stay at a different hotel but we wanted to join our friends at this hotel. It was very mediocre, the food was basic and not much of a choice. The room was clean but small, our stay was spoilt by people throwing things over the balcony, including drinks. We complained but nothing was done, some residents didn't not respect others and were swearing and shouting. I would class this as a second grade stag do accommodation.

Currently here as we write this. , do not go all inclusive here its not worth it and you wont get a refund , the food is terrible but the hotels in denial, hells kitchen as one lady described it yesterday so it speaks for itself . Alcoholic drinks are the cheapest you can get and very limited . Iearchers is now peach snaps , jd is now cheap whisky …. If you want a decent drink you then pay extra even though your all inclusive. Bar shuts at 11 so early to close . So you really done get what youv paid for at all . We was refused a refund despite not eating here. Then the issues with maids coming into the room moving items around going into wardrobes etc which is not acceptable when a do not disturb sign is on the door . Every morning we are woke up extremely early by maids banging around outside of our room which has made us extremely tired and grumpy. This is not what we come on holiday for and im appalled with this hotel . I would not advise this hotel
