The Editory Garden Carmo Funchal

Room was very dusty with marks on bathroom door and walls that could easily be remived with a wet wipe, so not thoroughly cleaned. Corridors were also really dusty. Thick dust on door frames and skirting boards. Great location!! Staff quite unhelpful and dismissive.

Perfect for me, a solo female traveller. Smaller hotel on the quiet back streets of Funchal, away from the tourist zone hotels. 5 or 20 minutes walk from everything. An older style hotel wirh a vintage vibe, quite unique. The room was agood size with private balcony and very comfy bed. The bath room was well equipped. Everything was lovely and clean and serviced everyday. Good selection for breakfast lunch and dinner. Small garden and 3 roof terraces with loungers, tables and chairs. The pool was great. Not heated but that's ok for me. Staff were nice and helpful. Deffinatly stay again as my go to hotel. Bedroom lighting could have been better, no air conditioning but a nice quiet ceiling fan. Would deffinatly recommend for value and comfort.

I was impressed by this hotel. Reasons - The staff were friendly and helpful. All areas were clean and rooms made up daily. There was a wide choice at the breakfast buffet. Roof terraces and pool areas were well kept and had great views over Funchal. Hotel was centrally located. It was amazingly quiet at night.

A lovely hotel, near Funchal centre, making it great for exploring and getting around. The facilities and rooms are good. Comfortable clean rooms, each with its own 50s and 60s photograph. The rooftop pool and seating areas are good for relaxing. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful, making our stay special, they couldn’t do enough. Breakfast has a good selection of cooked and fresh food and drinks offers. We enjoyed our stay and will return, also thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Funchal.

Very central to Funchal Old Town for ambling around to see the many sights. Lovely welcoming helpful reception staff. Good sized balcony for sitting in the sun. Large rooftop patio area with chairs and tables. Unheated swimming pool of good size on the roof. Fan in room, no air-con. Decor a little tired. Plenty of selections of food at buffer breakfast. 2 very good supermarkets within 5 minutes walk.

Brilliant breakfast. Central so we could easily walk to the market, cathedral restaurant area, marina. Lots of eateries around from cafes to higher end. On a side street so not a lot of traffic noise. Supermarket 3 min walk. Staff so friendly and helpful and serving staff brilliant, quietly super efficient. Room was very good, balcony, great shower. Cleaned every day.

Staff was great. Clean property. A little noisy at night. Wifi was great in the rooms.

Fantastic Location, lovely breakfast, very friendly staff. Nice touches like the glass of bubbly on arrival and at breakfast. However, the hotel is a bit dated and the hair drier in the bathroom went bang when my wife tried to use it. Could also do with a kettle in the room.

The hotel was lovely. It's a themed hotel. I found it wonderful. The staff were amazing and upgraded. They were so helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you everyone!

From the moment you walk through the door, you are made to feel at home. Every member of staff, from front of house, to bar/restaurant staff are so helpful and polite. This is our second visit, because we had such a great experience the last visit. Highly recommended. Down the Road, is a Nepalese Restaurant. It doesn't look much, but the service and food are wonderful and the prices are really good.
