Location was ideal! Staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms were well equipped and updated. I would stay here again.

The location was superb, being very close to the centre of Madrid and all the eateries and shops. The staff were very helpful. The room had excellent air conditioning and a safe, but no fridge. Security was excellent. The building, to be fair, was an old one which had upgraded facilities, but the little nooks and crannies could be criticised. Madrid’s taxi service is very good, and we were a 10 Euro ride from the main railway station.

We actually stayed at Hostel Castille II which is a five minute walk away from HC I. Easy check in and surprisingly large room. There was enough room for our suitcases. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of hot water. It was steps from Puerta del Sol so easy access to/from the metro. We could hear a little noise from other rooms but it wasn’t disruptive. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great stay. Room is small but comfortable. Centrally located in Madrid. Nice new bathroom with great shower area. Ok price for exploring Madrid.

My experience in Hostel Castilla I was excellent. beside the very reasonable price for the stay,, add excellent location ( it was so centrally located that all the mayor points of interest were at 15 minutes walk), metro station at a 4 minute walk, a very attentive and knowledgeable staff and you have the perfect location for your stay in Madrid. The rooms were very clean and got house keeping daily, the same can be said for the bathroom, also very important was the fact that the beds and pillows were very comfortable (something that is not always the case in stays in Europe. This is an incredible bargain anyway you look at it. The Plaza del Angel, Plaza del Sol, Plaza de Armas all are located at a stone throw away. You can also go to many restaurants, bars and markets located in the same street as the hotel. And last but not the least it is very important that I mention Petra and Irene who made everything on their part to please and satisfy all our needs during the stay. Irene speaks fluently in English, Spanish. Remember this is a Hostel not a hotel. The rooms are small and don't have luxury amenities. But if you are like us we only need a place with the basics, TV, bathroom, comfy bed, room temperature regulator, clean, good location and great staff , this is the place to go. Highly recommended.
