Hostal Castilla I - Atocha

Great location for tourism, central to main sights in Madrid and ~ 10-15 minute walk to Atocha train station. Room was small but clean and comfortable, and included hot water kettle. The hotel takes up half a floor in a bigger building; to enter, you'll often have to ring them at the building's entrance door, then ring their doorbell once you get to the correct floor. It was a slight bother but the staff was always responsive and let me in quickly. Staff was friendly overall -- they sent me a text via WhatsApp prior to my stay to get my estimated check-in time and answer any questions I had.

Cool neighborhood!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived having never stayed in a hostel before. But to my delight this hostel proved to be one of my best stays abroad. The staff were acceptionally helpful, the facilities although basic were of a high standard. The location was in perfect walking distance of all amenities eg. Restaurants, museums, theatres, parks,bars, clubs, shopping, tourist information and much more. Great hostel highly recommended.

The hotel staff was great. The room was well kept and clean. Good size for two to stay.

Superb location, we loved the old narrow streets full of bars and restaurants. very close to all main atractions. The rooms were small but clean, price was very economic for a City like Madrid
