room103 staff good, bar area and main reception all good -but room was very tired - marks on wall and dirty tile areas - light in shower not cover electric bulb exposed dangerous, lock on door had been smashed open before and only temporarily repaired - did not feel 100 % safe - sheets were clean - but I expected a better standard inside my room - I did make a point of telling the reception - they told me it was under development and refresh only taken on a few months ago - starting from top working down - and you could see the improvements BUT my room was not acceptable - I did stay because just done 8 hours driving and three meetings - but wanted to relax in clean tidy non tired room and feel safe - uncomfortable night and stay unfortunately - sorry but genuine feedback - please check the uncovered light above bath and shower as that really is dangerous.

The breakfasts are very good and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly and of course there’s free parking. Some areas are being refurbished and are really lovely once done.

The restaurant & bar were excellent. I particularly liked that the breakfast was cooked to order. Would prefer my own pot of tea though & some fresh fruit options apart from whole bananas & apples. Also the offer of toast & jam would have been appreciated. The waiters were very attentive. Car park was great.

The room was very basic & didn’t live up to the standard of the public areas downstairs. It was very clean though.

Service at breakfast was ok

The full english breakfast came with thin pork steaks not bacon. The breakfast was bland with very little flavour, apart from the very strong pork sausages and the whole breakfast was covered in some sort of green herbs. Very limited choice for continental brealfast. The decor in the restaurant just needs tidying up a bit, the scuffs and missing paint just needs snagging. The bedroom had something splashed up the wall in one corner, the paint was peeling and missing and there were stains on the carpet.There were dusty cobwebs in the windows too. Most of the time there seemed to be no one on reception. Sorry to say that we will not stay here again.

The manager was most helpful. We are considering a group visit to the area and this hotel is now under consideration. Breakfast and dinner were both good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Difficult to pick out problems because there is obvious work in progress. The work we have witnessed is encouraging.

Having stayed previously we could see that improvements have recently been made. Reception/restaurant/bar areas have all been refurbished & the restaurant is serving food again. Room was quiet, spacious & clean, if a little tired, but staff advised that bedrooms/bathrooms are also due to be renovated. Comfortable bed. Hot breakfast was freshly cooked to order, plentiful & very well presented. Staff are friendly & helpful. Parking is good.

Could have been more choice of continental breakfast items. Difficult to access live channels on TV.

Everything it was a pleasant place
