Worsley Arms Hotel

Serendipity! This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Our room was clean and well cared for. The food was outstanding

The Worsley Arms, charming, very pleasant and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious and well presented. My only gripe, the flat screen TV was, I think, only 21", in it's defence we didn't go there to watch TV. However, there was a great choice of channels on offer as we found one rainy night. We are used to a 55" TV at home so, our slight dissappointment was understandable. There was good cupboard space, hangers provided, also, drawers in various pieces of furniture dotted around the room, so much so, that we didn't use them all when we decanted our clothing etc... from our case. In the bathroom we had choice of either having a bath or shower with plenty of clean, fresh towels. There was also a well lit, wall mounted shaving mirror and a decent door mirror. A complete range of toiletries were provided, a very thoughtful gesture I thought. All we needed were our toothbrushes and toothpaste. Breakfast was set out in the main restaurant, again, good choice and service. We spent our first evening in the Cricketers bar for dinner, as it was a little more to our taste, cozy, and comfortable. The Hotel is situated in the beautiful village of Hovingham, some may describe it as "quaint", I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. It only got busy at rush hour, both morning and evening, and I use that term very loosely, lol, it went from zero cars passing by to, oh it must have been about twelve. Marvellous place, recommended.

Beautiful property, great breakfast and excellent service

After a long and tiring day we arrived early evening at the Worsley Arms. The welcome could not have been more friendly. Our room was very comfortable with excellent en=suite facilities. We were too tired to eat a full evening meal but did enjoy excellent salad starters followed by excellent beer and drinks in the bar. Breakfast the following day was first rate too!

A lovely hotel in a very pretty village conveniently close to York. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The dinner and breakfast were excellent.

The people and food at the hotel are equally amazing. The breakfast was made with local eggs, bacon and sausage. You can really taste the difference. The chicken at dinner fell off the bone, all very delicious.
