A really charming place to stay, quiet and relaxing in the centre of a Yorkshire village and convenient for York. The owner is actively involved in the running of the hotel and runs it in a smooth, friendly and good humoured manner. We ate at the hotel both evenings; there was a choice of the restaurant or the bar, the menu offered a good choice and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Overall, an enjoyable stay and we shall return next time we are in the area.

"Lovely hotel"

The hotel was lovely, very clean rooms, polite staff and good breakfast. The only downside, the restaurant and breakfast food is expensive.

" Nice hotel in a quiet village"

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location, lovely garden and very peaceful. Plenty of car parking space. . Very good evening meal and service . Breakfast restaurant and service very good but I have eaten better English breakfasts, did think it might have been a different chef. The toilet seat could do wih some attention as it was loose. Also the hot water wasn't hot at 6.30 and therefore the shower I had was a bit of a shock. However usually when staying away I would not usually require a hot shower until 7.00 and therefore that would probably not have then been a problem a little later on.

Brilliant service, brilliant food, lovely staff and very accommodating. We told the hotel owner that we would be getting back from a do at about 2:30am and they were brilliant and gave us a code and left our key in easy site to get into our room

The hotel was lovely in a quiet little village. The room was pleasant and clean. There was also a nice pub 100 yards away that did food
