Lovely old hotel with great atmosphere.

Room and bed were very small

Great location and grounds, with very friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast was cold and had to be returned. The same with our bar meals. The staff were great about the returned food and dealt with complaints quickly. Furnishings in public area very poor, torn curtains in dining area and the chairs in bar area were frayed and in some instances the fabric was torn. The curtains in the bedroom were hanging off the rail and the water in the shower was inconsistent.

The staff were so kind. The hotel its self was modest and had everything you needed. I liked that it cared about it the environment giving you big filled shampoo bottles and soaps rather lots of little ones that create a lot of plastic. I like how it asked you to be mindful about towel usage also. The breakfast was delicious and the dining hall was very grand.

The furniture was a bit tatty in the bar and dining hall if you looked closely.

The staff were very helpful. Food was great.

Location is stunning the woodland around is beautiful for walks gardens are also beautiful around the hotel lovely to sit in

Breakfast was 6 out of 10. Decor and bit padded but then it is a large building from 150 plus years ago. In its heyday it would have been stunning.

Beautiful building, like going back in time, they even have a peacock which seemed to live under our window which kept my dog fascinated! Staff were so kind, dog even got some treats when we checked in. Free and secure parking, surrounded by woodlands and fantastic scenery. Room was large, comfortable with a generous sized bathroom all of which were very clean. I would love to return for a further stay and explore the building and grounds alone more. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Nothing it was fantastic. If I had to be super fussy, the room was quite warm, we did have to keep the windows open due to this but the weather's was stunning so not a huge issue. If we were staying longer would have contacted reception regarding it and I am sure it would have been rectified straight away.
