Cumbria Grand Hotel

The grounds are beautiful, with a lovely garden to sit in and have a drink, a woodland walk and a peacock. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was great The bed was comfy and nice towels. Good location for the station, the seafront.

The room was tired and the curtain had come unhooked and wouldn't close properly, the mirror had a crack, wall paper was peeling in places. There was a hair on the bathroom floor, mould in the sealant around the shower. The Wifi wouldn't connect in the evening as there were already too many people using it. The continental breakfast was sad. No fresh fruit, not a good selection of pastries.

Excellent location. Well preserved Edwardian building in spacious grounds.

Shockingly bad breakfast. No method of payment available. Rude member of staff who no doubt was not happy because she had to take over from a member of the staff who barely spoke English. Why employ someone who cannot communicate effectively in a customer facing position?
