Hotel Le Maréchal

My husband and I loved our stay at Le Marechal. The attentive and friendly staff, from reception during check-in and check-out, the romantic atmosphere, and the location in Little Venice, made our stay fantastic. The breakfast was also delicious!!! I highly recommend Le Marechal if you are looking for a hotel full of nice details, art, and history. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed.

An old-world but elegant hotel that had everything you would need. Excellent location, excellent, quality buffet breakfast. Highly recommended. And Colmar is a delight. An amazingly preserved old town.

We love Colmar and this hotel is in a great location. It has a charming courtyard and the best and best located breakfast of our whole holiday. But the annexe is tbh not great. Bit bog-standard and not at the level of the main hotel rooms. Shame as it wouldn’t take much: chairs in the courtyard; easier access; some attempt to make it prettier. Might not book again if that’s all that on offer.

The property was very interesting historically, very comfortable compact and bijou room! The breakfast was perfect. When I had trouble opening my door, the lock was changed. It was quiet and I slept well.

The location could not be better. It was a 15 minute walk from the train station and the center of town was just around the corner from the hotel. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. I was very impressed with the staff; they had a room available for me even though I arrived early. The outside bar was the perfect way to end the day. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel and staff are excellent as is the location. Our "suite" was more like an average sized room, but still very nice. Parking can be a challenge.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual accommodations we had. What was advertised as a romantic boutique hotel was, in reality, a poorly converted apartment annex with substandard furnishings and a long list of issues. The room was nothing like what the website photos show. It had mismatched, inauthentic furniture, a rickety staircase, and absolutely no assistance with luggage at checkout despite being two flights up. The couch bed for the kids was squeaky and unstable, and the bedding throughout was cheap—thin sheets, flat pillows, and two separate twin comforters awkwardly placed on a bed pushed together. The bathroom had a cramped plastic shower stall with no shelving, dangerously exposed pipes that became scalding hot, and no room to turn comfortably. The cabinetry looked like it had been hastily repainted without any prep work, and the old carpets added to the run-down feel. The TVs didn’t connect to the internet, and many of the lights didn’t work, including bedside lamps. To top it off, we weren’t even told breakfast was included until we asked—and it turned out to be a very low-quality mostly continental offering. The annex we were in is clearly not a professionally run hotel, but feels rather like an apartment being rented out without the necessary amenities or hospitality. The management refused any form of compensation or acknowledgment of these issues when our travel agent who booked it contacted them. We do not recommend staying in the annex at all- especially room 5, and feel this property is misrepresenting itself online.

Old building full of charm and cozy.

Excellent location and very authentic medieval property. I have it 4 and not 5 starts because our first room ( room 10) lacked a working AC and we had 2 very uncomfortable nights, despite alerting the staff as soon as we checked in. On the third of the 5 nights we spent there we were transferred to another room (40, in the attic). The difference was surprising: larger, with very modern shower, working AC, and overall a much nicer experience. I saw other rooms. Not all are the same, even on the same category.
