"Nice hotel, nice staff"

8.0

We stayed in an accessible room which except for the very low bed, was fine. Breakfast was good and plentiful. They were also relaxed about the hours and restocked croissants just before 10am. It is convenient to the port and also shopping. Several restaurants nearby too. Not luxury but a nice decent place to stay with plenty of parking.

"Good basic Hotel"

10.0

This was our second time at the Best Hotel and again we had a good experience. Yes the rooms are small but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is adequet. We managed to find the BBC on the TV wich made a big difference (Room 112). The hotel staff are freindly and helpful and as I am disabled they put a cone in the disabled parking when I went out so noone else could use it. All I can say is you get what you pay for.

"Good value basic hotel - July 2012"

8.0

We have stayed in various hotels in and around the dunkerque area and Calais. The Best hotel will now be our number one choice for future stopover trips. The hotel has a really nice reception area, rooms are adequate nice comfortable bed, flat screen tele but we did not get any uk channels. Clean bathroom with nice hot water and powerful shower. good value for money. Free safe parking and plenty of spaces.

"'Best' was a step up from the F1"

6.0

I stayed here with my wife and two lads, 12 and 9, on the way back from a week long holiday in Vendee. Booked via 'booking.com' we needed 2 rooms. Still a good price - around £75. As it turned out one of the rooms had 3 single beds so we managed in one room. As other reviews said - it is in an industrial wilderness - no bars, shops or anything. Room was clean and hotel was not in bad shape. There was a telly with a few channels but just one English - BBC Prime I think. Bring your own entertainment, drinks and snacks and it is a good stopover option for a ferry.

"Convenient for the Cross Channel Ferry to the UK"

10.0

Overall the hotel should be viewed more as a convenience for long distance travellers waiting for the early morning ferry to the UK. It is not designed for luxury nor is it situated in an attractive area where you can spend the evening socialising or having a meal - just a place to get your head down and this it does well. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and both we met spoke sufficient English to answer our concerns. We have only thee comments. The first is that the area that doubles up as a Bar is really the breakfast area thus not at all cosy enough to be considered as a Bar. Second the layout of the toilet is such that larger persons may find it difficult to access some of the essential fittings required by nature. Finally, the area in which it is located is very industrialised and a walk during the evening stay should not be considered at all. We will be happy to stay again at the hotel if we have to catch the early morning ferry back to the UK as the journey time to the docks is approximately 14 minutes and the roads are quiet but for evening entertainment and dining or a walk on a good day a drive into Dunkirk is necessary.

"You get what you pay for."

6.0

The rooms were small, basic and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are no bars or restaurants within walking distance; the hotel is in a commercial zone and quite a distance from the centre of Dunkirk.

"Tired but convenient for ferries"

6.0

It was difficult to find this hotel from the map provided. It has seen better days in terms of furnishings which were worn and basic. The beds were small and not very comfortable. On the plus side the man on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We chose this hotel because it was near the ferry port at Dunkirk and once we had good directions it was very easy to get to the ferry for a morning crossing to Dover.

"best hotel in dunkirke"

10.0

The only problem I had was, as I was arriving late I needed an access code and room Number that could only be given on the day. Luckily my daughter speaks french and texted me details while in transit. Other than that I had a relaxing night/morning and was made welcome Thank you
