Oceanis - Cephalonie

We were very well looked after at the Oceanis. We were collected at the airport and returned there as part of the service. Maria made sure we were in time for the bus and the ferry for days out. She booked car hire and a boat outing for us. We paid extra (I think) with Expedia for a larger room and we were in the newer part of the hotel with a panoramic view of the Cephalonia coast and to Ithaca and in the distance further islands and the mainland. But all the rooms really have sea views. We were there very early in the season and the hotel was still very quiet. We rather liked that. There are two good restaurants on the doorstep and two more down the hill by the harbour. We didn't have an evening meal further away than that, even though we could have asked for a lift back to the hotel. We didn't go to Cephalonia to sunbathe and we needed a car to see the sights - Maria arranged that at a very reasonable price. Without a car, it's difficult to move far. But Poros is no worse in that respect than other parts of Cephalonia. There is a bus to Skala and on to Argostoli, once each way per day, I think. But no buses to anywhere else, unless that changes as the season progresses. The well-known Capt Vangelis cruises will call on their way north to Fiskardo and Ithaka. We enjoyed a day trip to Ithaka. We filled up a fortnight very happily. In May, the weather is good for sightseeing but perhaps not so god for the beach and swimming!"

We only stayed one night before going with the ferry the next day, it was so far one of our favorite places in Greece so far. It was just before the tourist season so nice and calm. It's up a hill so the view is amazing. Breakfast was nice and we enjoyed the facilities. Recommend to stay here!

We stayed here at the end of August having 2 rooms we had a view overlooking the harbour which was lovely only a 10 minute drive to skala beach Great service and very helpful staff
