Giada Palace - Pool & Resort

Pool was great, other guests were lovely, hiring a bike was necessary as it was 1.5 km from town. Good to have a kettle and tea bags in room- coffee would have been great!

Everyone I've met here were lovely. Everything was clean and the towels were only switched out every 2-3 days instead of daily, which is what I prefer. It is a pleasant 20 min walk from the town centre. My room had a huge desk and the wardrobe had more than enough hangers.

One of my keys was a bit difficult to use. I figured it out but a heads up would have helped that the key is also the door knob. The pillow options were either big and hard or slip and flimsy.

The staff is amazing, very helpful and kind. The bikes are nice as well, you can borrow a bike and go to the city.

There were a lot of mosquitos when it is hot, so bring some spray against them.

The location is pleasant (even if the surrounding landscape is not the most beautiful). Unfortunately, the photos posted do not really correspond to reality. Some things should be improved (the sofas and armchairs are very old and not in optimal condition, also the bathrooms and the kitchen, although functional, would require an improvement).

it is not in the most picturesk part of Lucca, but the old city is only a short drive away.

We weren't able to sleep owing to a problem with the air conditioning which would beep and switch on and off interruptedly throughout the night. The system was unresponsive and could not be operated with the remote we were given. This was not an accident or something unexpected: the owner knew it and told us "the AirCon had a bit of a problem" when we arrived at noon but did not do anything to fix it or at the very least to disconnect it, resulting in us being unable to sleep when we came back to the apartment in the evening. This is sloppy and not worth the high score the place has. Very disappointing. Overall the place looks tired and would require a renovation as forniture and appliances are very old.
