Europe Hotel

This hotel covers all of the basics, clean, comfortable, nice mattress in room, and priced correctly. We arrived really early in the morning and were offered direct access to the room without having to pay or wait, we were so exhausted we could not have been more grateful for the hospitality. And like it was mentioned on this page the hotel is run by a couple, wife and husband, and they give personable quality service that you cannot get in other larger hotels!

Hôtel très basique bien placé, mais rien de plus : malgré la proximité du vieux port et de bars, l’hôtel est très mal isolé phoniquement. Le service est minimal. A savoir que la réception ferme à minuit, mais qu'on ne vous prévient pas en arrivant... Si vous pensez sortir, ne laissez pas vos clés à la réception en partant, sinon, ils vous appellent en vous disant qu'ils vont ouvrir la porte de votre chambre, et laisser la clé sur la porte... Wifi très faible, quand on vous donne le bon code (je ne l'ai eu que le 3ème jour). Le petit déjeuner est très limité, si vous arrivez trop tard, il ne reste pas grand chose.

La chambre donnait sur une cours arrière où il y a les moteurs de climatisation. Une forte odeur de cigarette dans la chambre et dans l'hotel en général.

Simple hotel, simple, small and clean room, basic breakfast, friendly staff and very good location. Convenient to get on tour boats, and to access subway. Lots of restaurants, bars and businesses nearby. I would return to Europe Hotel.

Good location on a quiet street off the main harbour. Friendly staff. Room on the smaller side but adequate.

Ladies and gents, sit your butts down and let me tell you a thing. I've been in this hotel for all of 10 minutes and I love this place. Run by a English fellow and his wife, they are the most goddamn lovely people I've ever met in my life. I was met, hot and sweaty, heaving my not-particularly-large suitcase up the stairs, by one of my lovely hosts, who marched my bag up like a boss. They're efficient. They took my bag and my passport and had them both back to me within seconds, which were filled with a lovely chat. I'm sure I wasn't particularly interesting (just another customer) yet I was treated like my solo travels were devastatingly interesting. Then I was handed my key, the wifi code and (hallelujah) a remote for the air conditioner. The room, albeit more than I paid in central France, is clean, comfortable, cool and functional. More updates to come but so far Hotel Europe is a go.

Cracking location near the old port. Owner/manager was extremely helpful and a thoroughly nice bloke 2 boot.

We stayed at this hotel 1 night and that night was a complete nightmare. Upon checkin, the gentleman was polite, but I think he was the owner. This is when we entered the room that the problems started. The room was dirty, with hair in the sink, piece of coconut on the floor, and weird liquid on the mirror. We could also hear the neighbours that were on the phone and spoke very loud without any care about others....and their baby as well. We went to the front desk to complain, but the owner was gone and only a man was there. We asked to get another room or to leave and none of the options were possible. We finally decided to stay as all the hotels were fully booked. When we came out for dinner, the receptionist was listening to his very loud rap music looking at customers in a weird way, and from that moment we didn't feel safe anymore. We booked through an online website and we raised a complaint. Let's see if the owner will take action following this, and following the extremely unprofessional behaviour of the receptionist.

Everyone was so friendly and professional throughout my stay. The location itself is ideal; very close to the old port and historic Marseille, as well as a quick (15-minute) walk to the train station, so great for transportation as well. The coffee at breakfast, completely complementary, was also excellent.
