Fantastic location and character

Excellent small hotel in a stunning position, with quirky monk's cells as rooms, interesting and good food, and well chosen wine list. The pool, situated amidst the rugged landscape is a great joy to relax in mid journey.

The property has a magnificent setting overlooking the valley the views are great. The hotel is a rebuilt ancient abbey on a sit settled since Gallic times. The facilities were good and the staff accommodative. Very private.

This is a beautiful little hotel set high on a hill over looking the valley between Salon de Provence and Aix en Provence. We had a large room with our own roof top deck. The staff was fantastic, the pool was beautiful, the restaurant was good...a very relaxing and central location to launch your exploration of the Provence region. We would go back there for sure.

The Abbaye is located on a tall hill outside of Salon-de-Provence and is easy to find with Google Maps. The building itself is charming - our suite (St. Michel) had barreled stone ceilings and two roof-top terraces, the upper one reached by a spiral staircase - both with wonderful views of the valley below. The Suite was very comfortable and the bathroom is modern. AC available if needed. We ate two nights in the restaurant, which was just excellent and reasonably priced. As a vegetarian I felt well cared for. The buffet breakfasts were also excellent. The hill behind the hotel has several ruined buildings on it - old fortifications. One has what looks like a modern fire observation post on top of it, that just tells you how good the view is. There is also a ridge extending below the elevation of the hotel with a historic cross and excellent views beyond. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English very well, which as non-French speakers traveling in France we appreciate very much. I left my laptop charger in the room when we checked out, and they were nice enough to return it to me back in the US. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

Beautiful location, and grounds. Charming buildings and excellent place to have dinner and take in the view. Food and food service were top notch. The decks on the suite are a fantastic place to relax after a day of exploring with sweeping views with a lot character. The staff were all very helpful (exception of one preoccupied with personal phone so as to forget about our request for drinks to be delivered to poolside, got remedied after the second visit to front desk 30 minutes later). Improvement feedback I would offer is : Offer help with heavy bags instead of letting customers drag across sandy parking lot and up windy narrow stair well (this is an old building),; maybe a cart to roll the bags from parking lot to hotel would be a good start. The bathroom smelled and when I gave that feedback they attributed it to the age of the property , a bit of a turn off. I think more can be done to freshen the smell of the toilet area of the room. The AC were not effective but it was cooler at night so we opened the windows.
