The view from the room and the spa.

The room was poorly equipped; there was no hair conditioner (which is a standard nowadays); the ambiente in the room is rather basic and lot of stuff requires renovation. The most disappointing was dinner in the hotel restaurant. The meal size (we took 2-course menu) was so small that we literally thought it was a joke. The price for each meal was CHF 30, and we were served a fork size of the pasta as first course and then a finger size of the beef as the second course. It was simply a joke and disrespectful. There is far too much stuff in the restaurant, which results in a chaotic "organization", the left hand does not know what the right is doing. We've been asked by 2 waiters 4 times which wine we ordered and waited for it nearly 30 minutes. All in all, very poorly organized hotel. It looks nice from the outside, but huge area for improvement inside.

Un personnel très à l'écoute du client. L'établissement est de très bonne qualité. Une gastronomie fine. Le spa est très agréable. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel et je reviendrai avec grand plaisir pour randonner encore et découvrir encore ce canton magnifique et apaisant.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. We had a Mountain View room on the fourth floor that was spacious and clean. We had a balcony with chairs to watch the sun go down. Everyone has time to talk to you, from the staff at the front desk to the room attendants and restaurant staff. We had the half board option and have to say that the food was superb. It was beautifully presented and fresh. There was a good choice and the menu changed daily. The only gripe I have is that we were charged 7chf for tap water. This is common practice in Switzerland now. When you buy an expensive bottle of wine each night, it grates to have to pay for something that is essentially a human right. The spa area was extensive with sauna and steam rooms along with indoor and outdoor pools. In our package, we were entitled to a massage. Helga was amazing and tailored our treatment to accommodate our aches and pains! She really helped my back problem and took time to explain exercises that would help. Another plus was free access to all the gondolas and cable cars in the area, along with buses. This was a huge saving. It was the first time we had been to Adelboden and it won’t be our last! Thank you to all the staff for their warm welcome!

Diner reservation, table not ready and original given away (maître d‘hotel) Overpriced diner: diner not up to standard (meat preparation, dessert was underwhelming for 15/20 points in Gault Millau?) promised wine refill (by maître -d’hotel) never happened, Cleanup of the billing required in the evening (drinks mixed, diner missing… ) with help of waitress…

The staff who served us dinner on our first night and who served us breakfast first two mornings were very helpful.

Breakfast didn’t have a lot of options, no hot food available except the eggs you could order. When asked if there are any hot food available, was rudely told by one lady staff that this is what Swiss breakfast looks like. Our room didn’t have a view, which is ok as they didn’t have availability. However, while allocating our table for breakfast/dinner, we always got same table with no view. Would have been nice to be seated with view some days especially when all other tables were empty. Hotel offered us lift to the bus stop, which was very nice of them. However, the driver was absolutely rude. We decided not to tip him even though we had already taken out money for it. The worst part was this hotel didn’t have step free access. With a toddler on a stroller, it was very difficult to get up and down the hotel. And no staff comes to offer you help. For the price you pay, one can expect to have few services to make your stay better.
