Wellness Hotel Alpenhof

This hotel was a home away from home - a welcoming and caring environment. From the moment we walked up to the front desk to our departure, the services were first rate. We loved the location because it was a short walk to the train station, was located along a stream where we could enjoy a short stroll, and the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was perfect. They easily accommodated our party’s gluten free dining needs and they provided traditional Swiss fare. Among their wonderful surprises was packing a lunch for us to take with us the morning we departed. That gesture alone helped start us off at our next destination after a long train ride.

A really lovely central hotel. Very stylish in a traditional way. Plenty of choice at breakfast and nice that non dairy milk was on offer. My only small criticism was that being slightly out of season a lot of restaurants were closed until next month and even ones that stated they were open on their website actually weren’t. I spoke to a receptionist and asked if she could find out which were actually open and let me have a couple of options that were, but she didn’t get back to me. So we went into the tourist information board and they were only to happy to, and gave us a list. I usually use hotel front of house for restaurant recommendations so felt this was a little unhelpful. There were often 2 receptionists working and the hotel certainly wasn’t busy. Hence 4/5 score.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are comfortable and what a surprise to see The Matterhorn from our balcony! This hotel is just a few minutes from the train station and about a 7 minute walk into the center of town. We were not here to ski but they definitely have several shuttles to aid in transport. Our stay was made even better by the accommodating staff. Special shout outs to Ali, Coco and Karen. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
