Hotel Umberto A Mare

Beautiful old building, built into the rocks. Right on the peninsula looking out to sea. Great sun deck with comfy loungers and steps down into the water.

Hate to complain, but the pillows were not great. 😕

the views are amazing

there is no reception so no one to greet you. The rooms are not really cleaned properly even though they have housekeeping, for example empty soap packet sat on vanity the whole 6 days, no hot water on one morning, no one really speaks english which we found very difficult to navigate . It is in an outstanding location however the hotel is old. The breakfast is lovely and do was the waitress. If your room is on lower levee there is no privacy from neighbours. To swim in beach which l did not at the property is dangerous , massive rocks to manoeuvre . The best part for us was the restaurant it was outstanding, request the terrace seating . All staff pleasant but we were left underwhelmed . At last have a manned reception area . Finally no iron and no tea/coffee facilities so apart from breakfast you need to go into town for a coffee.

Our stay was amazing. The property is family owned and super friendly. We had a room with seaview and a terrance which was amazing. Breakfast was delicious with view of the sea. Defenitly try out the restaurant. Location was great as you were at Forio village in a 5 minute walk.

Nothing

Absolutely beautiful location. So close to everything else in Forio, but not so close that you're right in the middle! Getting to watch the sunset in that way on the balcony every night was so special. The whole place had such a beautiful classic feel to it, that the place had been nurtured and curated carefully over many years. There was really interesting and beautiful art everywhere. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and the breakfast was delicious and bountiful. Definitely book in for an evening meal there, exquisite.

My only downside was that I would have loved a coffee machine in the room, to sit and watch the sea with some espresso every day, but I could easily go and get one from the bar if I'd have needed to.

Incredible setting. Walking straight into the sea from the hotel was amazing. Sunsets were glorious. Restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever had. Exceptional all round.

Rooms were slightly basic in terms of decor. But still very comfortable and good value!

Loved every minute of my stay here! Clean rooms, right on the water, close to lots of eating and shopping, tons of light, balcony, breakfast everyday. Marco and his staff were extremely pleasant even for this non-Italian speaker. The restaurant is also amazing and I loved trying rabbit for the first time. Had to share a picture of some of the breakfast options since there wasn’t space for that. Scrambled eggs cooked in olive oil is delicious!

My shower was extra small but I was able to maneuver it and the room itself with the double patio made up for it.
