Il Granaio dei Casabella

Comfortable, clean, well maintained family run establishment, with several lounges for reading and relaxing. Communication in english with staff was fairly easy. They are cheerful and genuinely concerned about their guests' wellbeing. Breakfast buffet is excellent. No lunch is served, but dinner is available at a pleasant bistrot adjacent to the hotel. It is within walking distance from the archaeological ruins and they will arrange for taxi pick-up and-drop off at the railway station. Wifi is very good in the lounges, but it may not reach some of the guest rooms. Altogether a pleasant place to stay. I would certainly repaeat the experience.

A bit of a walk, not too far, but I think you walk by every other hotel in town. Hotel is gated so you have to ring the bell on the gate next to the sign. Breakfast was amazing which probably makes it worth the walk. Beds are hard. Friendly staff.

Would recommend to anyone. A beautiful place near the antiquities and great restaurants. Very nice, would have loved to stay longer. Great service, well decorated place with excellent service and great breakfast. The gardens are outstanding.

Very spacious, light and airy room with a lovely terrace. At night we could see the Temple of Athena bathed in lights. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. With the Greek temples and the museum so close we visited every day for three days. You can buy the 3 day ticket to both for only one extra euro. Il Granaio dei Casabella was so relaxing that we hung out on our terrace or in the several sitting rooms after touring the temples of walking to the beach at Torre a Paestum. Francesca arranged for a car to pick us up at the train station and also for a car to drive us to Naples to make an early morning flight, because the train was not sure to arrive on time. After the creative chaos of Naples and the noisy exuberance of staying on the Main Street of Sorrento, the Corso Italia, Paestum was a welcome, relaxing change. It is a little slice of peaceful Italian countryside where you can walk to the Barlotti dairy in 8 minutes and buy fresh mozzarella di bufala (Made from water buffalo milk). It’s to die for. Also, a 2 minute walk from Il Granaio gets you to the gourmet Italian restaurant Bistrot 73 for lunch and dinner. Roberto puts on a real professional spread with local, fresh ingredients and prepared in true slow food manner: everything made from scratch. Il Granaio and Paestum are definitely worth a day visit!

This is a lovely property with ample and charming common areas and well-appointed rooms. During your stay, you will feel like you are residing in a country estate. The chirping of birds, roses and other flowers in bloom and no sounds of traffic or street noise add to that feeling. The bed in my room was comfortable. I had nice views of their property from my large windows. I also liked the room décor which was country chic. This property is a VERY short walk to the Paestum temples making it a very convenient place to stay. If you haven't been to Paestum, I highly recommend a visit to the ruins and a stay at this B&B. My only suggestion for improvement relates to their Wi-Fi coverage. I did not try to use the Wi-Fi in the common areas, but it was a little hard to get on Wi-Fi in my bedroom.
