"A decent place to stay"

8.0

we've stayed here twice in the last 12 months. Both times it has been after crossing the Channel before a long drive down through France. We've used a family room and it's been clean and comfortable. Staff have been friendly and the breakfasts excellent. It's studio type accomodation so ideal for families. The rooms are slightly dated and I certainly wouldn't call them luxurious but this hotel has been excellent for what we needed it for

"Great location...great price"

10.0

Although the decor was "dated", it was very charming and comfortable for 5 of us. My 8 & 9yo, my husband, my mom and I. The staff (unlike some of our experience in France) was very friendly and helpful. There is an Aldi (small grocery store) across the street for you convenience. Highly recommended...

"Comfortable and reasonably priced with helpful staff"

8.0

We stayed here for one night after driving up from Southern France as a prelude to a ferry trip back to the UK. I was travelling with my wife and our 3 small children aged 5, 3 and 1 respectively. Our initial impressions were that is was exactly as expected, i.e. a small urban hotel. Once inside we had a family room which had a double bed and two single pull out beds for the children. A travel cot was supplied for our 1 year old and all were made up with clean comfortable sheets and blankets. The decor is somewhat dated in the corridors etc but the rooms themselves were good. Facilities were all in good working order and well thought out. The kitchenette contained fridge, hob, oven, microwave and a reasonable range of cutlery and crockery was provided. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a similar situation as well as for a longer stay as a base for the Caen area.

"Fine Place"

8.0

We booked this based on value and size of room. We were not disappointed. The decor/furnishings were ancient, but very clean. Kitchenette was fully equipped with cooktop, fridge, toaster, coffee and tea pots, along with dishes/silverware. Room slept four, but we stayed with 2+3 small kids without troubles (we brought sleeping bag/blankets). We opted out of the 7EU breakfast. Small parking lot. Not too much within walking distance, but it is on the bus route. We didn't ask for much, but front desk was helpful. Free wireless! Delightful town and very convenient to the D-Day sights. Fully recommended.

"Mixed bag"

4.0

When we arrived at the hotel, they could not locate our five day reservation. Since I had booked a two room apartment for two persons, I had a bad feeling that they had rented it to a group of up to six persons and generated a much larger fee. When they located my reservation which they said an employee had failed to print out, they distanced themselves from the fact and stated that they would help us out, as if it was our fault. However we were required to move to three separate rooms. While we were out the second day they moved our luggage to a tiny room next to the noisy front desk that had a window facing headlights of cars entering the hotel. When we objected they offered a better room. It was a holiday weekend and we never got the two room apartment. The final room for three nights was nice.
