"Wonderful Honeymoon!"

10.0

Absolutely amazing villa! We spent 5 nights of our honeymoon at the villa, and we wish we spent all 10! The staff was wonderful and helped us book dinner reservations, excursions, and anything else we needed help with. They treated us like family, and that is exactly what we were looking for. We can't wait to come back for anniversaries in the future!

"Awesome Villa experience"

10.0

The Villa is absolutely stunning. It's just a pity that the kitchen is closed during winter as you can't find food in the local restaurants either as everything is closed. So we went hungry at night as we didn't realize this till our second last day. But otherwise an amazing experience and a wonderful place to stay. Staff are very helpful and the Villa is out of this world. We will definitely go back .... In summer!!

"Excellent - YES we would go back. 4.5 stars."

10.0

We are very frequent travelers who have never been to the Villa il Poggiale before and loved it. We visited in late September - not too hot and the evenings were cool. Perfect time to go. Federica, Irene, and the entire staff were absolutely wonderful from arranging our to/from airport transportation to making us feel at home. The grounds were lovely, although the pool was not heated in late September. We had breakfast everyday at the Villa - the chef does a wonderful job. They have a simple menu for dinner, and a couple of times we stayed in the Villa for dinner and wine. We found the dinners to be quiet enjoyable. Even their house wines (which is on the honor system and chosen by the staff) were all excellent. We had a full suite which has plenty of room to relax with a semi-private porch outside. Our traveling companions had a junior suite which also had plenty of room. Now the "OK" news: The bathrooms could be updated. They are OK, but could use some refreshing - more modern amenities and some contractor work perhaps. But this is a minor gripe compared to the overall experience. This is a very, very nice Villa in the heart of Tuscany. Think if it as a larger bed and breakfast but short of a full resort. If you can splurge, go with at least a junior suite, and rent a car in Florence to explore the countryside. Yes, we would go back. Thank you Villa iL Poggiale!

"Exquisite villa. Fantastic service. Great b'fast"

10.0

Exquisite villa with fantastic service in the Tuscan countryside outside Florence. My wife, 10-month-old baby and I had a wonderful 2-day stay at the Villa. We really enjoyed: - the fantastic location on top of a hill with a panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside outside Florence - excellent service by everyone at the villa - they will really do whatever they can to help ensure you have a wonderful stay - exquisite villa with beautiful furnishing and rooms. The library has an honesty bar - great breakfast and dinner buffets - the food is so fresh and so delicious! - the half-day tour of Siena by Marco that Federica and Monica organized for us - he is a fantastic guide and it was a great experience The only thing to watch out for if you're a light sleeper is to try not to get a room on the ground floor next to the kitchen as it can understandably be pretty noisy during meal times.

"great place to relax"

10.0

Great hospitality. Room clean. Shower w/ pressure, enough hot water. Amazing view. Very delicious breakfast. No need to venture off given the surroundings of hotel. Nice sauna. Massage lady was very nice. Front staff will arrange these activities for you. The address given doesn't match gps address so keep this in mind when driving here. Wifi at night was really bad, even outside near front office

Lovely place, beautiful surroundings and scenery, good service, renaissance villa that pertained to the Rucellai and the Antinori families at different stages.
