Villa il Poggiale - Dimora Storica

Beautiful villa with great pool area, the service was excellent and the food outstanding. Easy day trip to Florence, an amazing country walk - take route 1 at Lamole, lovely resturant at end of walk. Would love to visit again.

There are not enough lovely things to say about Villa Il Poggiale. The staff was kind and courteous and the service was great. The room was spacious and beautiful. I don't know if the bathrooms in all of the rooms are like the one that was in ours, but I loved the big bathtub (instead of a small shower platform) with plenty of hot water and great water pressure! The hotel is not in Florence, but we had our own transportation. You can see and do everything available during the day and then come back to this oasis to relax and soothe any tire muscles. My only regret - that we couldn't stay longer. Highly recommended.

This is a gorgeous hotel. Very old, with character, romantic, clean, and excellent service.

The staff and villa were simply amazing! Immediately upon arrival we found ourselves overwhelmed by the beauty of the countryside and the charm of the villa. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and cozy. The dinner buffet was excellent and was a great way to end the day. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for the "Under the Tuscan Sun" experience!

VIP is a wonderful place. A 14th century villa situated amidst grape vineyards and olive plantations with a wonderful view of the Pesa valley - it is a Tuscan heaven. A 30 minutes ride from Florence aboard the SITA bus, it isn't very far from civilization. The town itself has a pretty decent market place where you get almost everything. Location-wise, it is a great place to set base to explore Florence, Sienna and the other regions of Chianti and Toscana. The villa is a wonderful structure with great ceilings and painting adorned walls. The rooms are lavishly decorated with very comfortable settings. Oh yes, you have a nice jacuzzi and sauna you can use after a tiring day out in Florence. Our 3 night stay was made all the more wonderful because of the hospitality of the villa staff. Special mention for Daniele here who was of great help. The staff doesnt hesitate in going out of the way to make your stay special. Another person who should be mentioned is Cyril who makes wonderful breakfasts and Srilankan pollo. I would definitely like to visit the place again, perhaps for a longer stay.

This villa is a wonderful location for a family holiday. The rooms and suites are generous in size and the gardens and pool wonderful with fantastic views. The icing on the cake is the wonderful home cooked food and the excellent friendly service from everyone involved . Unbelievably you are only 20 minutes from the centre of Florence and ideally located to see Tuscany at its best just 50 minutes from Pisa and 45 minutes from Siena. Our children loved it and already want to go back! For us adults a restful, unpressured and seemingly timeless holiday thankyou to everyone at VP.

We wanted to experience countryside living in Italy, and got more than we expected. This is an original villa set amongst the olive trees of the estate. We were treated like family, and afforded sincere kindness and unique services after hours. We arrived late but a note with directions was posted on the front gate. Within minutes, we were allowed entry and escorted to our room. Tired, exhausted, and hungary, we were fed, and made comfortable by the staff even though the kitchen was closed. And the food was scrumptuous, authentic italian (not some thrown together sandwitch). The staff really cares about your satisfaction. Our room was the largest ever, with heated bathroom floor and towel rack. The villa is a vacation spot in itself and a great place to relax and enjoy. Food is excellent. Location is near town, with shops and restaurants, and historical sites. You do not want to miss an opportunity to stay at this marvelous place.

Villa Il Poggiale is possibly the most amazing hotel I've ever stayed in. We had a basic room but it had a giant four poster bed in it which was supremely comfortable, the bathroom was enormous and gorgeous and the whole villa was fabulous. We felt as though we were royalty for three days. The staff of the hotel were really helpful providing restaurant recommendations and reservations, maps for all the local towns and useful hints such as where to park for free in other towns, they sorted me out with a sewing kit when my coat broke. They were wonderful. All in all I cannot recommend this place enough. Stay here, it's fantastic.
