Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux

This is the fourth year in a row that we have stayed at this wonderful hotel. The location is stunning and perfect for a peaceful and relaxed break. What really sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service provided by all the staff.

Beautiful setting, green and lush, delicious food, clean and comfy, staff are delightful and super helpful, quiet area.

I understand the need to pay green fees, but it would be great if the use of tennis court was included in the room rate

Our stay at Casa Velha was truly exceptional. The staff were unfailingly kind and attentive, always eager to help. Both restaurants, Oxalis and Vista, were outstanding—the Oxalis tasting menu in particular is an experience not to be missed. Our suite was spacious and very comfortable. The golf course is remarkable, but the highlight of all are the gardens, which are simply breathtaking. We will definitely be back.

Het was de rust zelve en de ontbijtzaal is heel mooi wat een fijne start van de dag garandeert. Tevens waren wij ook super blij met de vriendelijke bediening. Wij waren 2 weken naar Madeira en wilden onzer verloving in de 2e week in stijl vieren. Dat is hier zeker gelukt en zou het elk ander aanraden om hier te verblijven voor het minder actieve deel van je vakantie. Fijne spa, zwembad, golf en heerlijk eten. Wij hebben ook gebruik gemaakt van de wijnproeverij, de high tea en waren bij de verjaardag van het restaurant Oxalis! Een groot feest. Tevens was de huiskat ook super knuffelig en voor ons een hoogtepunt bij de cocktail op het terras in de avond. Alles bij elkaar: wij komen sowieso terug in de toekomst naar Madeira en ook dit hotel. Dank!

Heel soms was het bestellen van eten bij het ontbijt niet strak (nieuwe groepen eerder eerder gevraagd om bestellingen voor eten). Dit is niet super storend, maar ik benoem het hier expres zodat het hotel er op kan letten :).

We come back. Now it was our 4. time in casa velha. We enjoied the excellent services, the suite with the view in the beautiful garden and the silent after the crowdy Funchal. Its like at home. Thank you.
