Hotel A Palazzo Busdraghi, Residenza d'Epoca

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Palazzo Busdraghi. Our hosts, Marta and Ingrid, spoke very good English and were very kind. Marta even asked us if we would like breakfast to be served earlier than 8 am, and they started serving it at 7:30 at our request. The room was lovely and very comfortable - bed, shower, etc. And ours had a couch, which I loved. Breakfast was delicious, including little cups of yogurt with fresh strawberries and honey a couple of mornings. The location is great - cafes and restaurants just a few steps away. It's a bit of a walk from the train station, since it's on the opposite end of the walled city, but it only took about 15 minutes. There was a little late-night noise from the street, but pretty minor. We also heard lovely strains of music playing from a music school very nearby where students must have been practicing - a lovely bonus.

Wonderful B&B! Wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted warmly at this 13th century renovated palace. Entering through the huge wooden door with a skeleton key felt like we were stepping back in time. But...the room was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend and would love to return someday.

We had a lovely stay at A Palazzo Busdraghi Residenza d’Epoca in Lucca. The location is incredibly central—right on one of the main streets inside the walls, which made it very convenient to explore the city on foot. That said, being on a main road means it can be a bit noisy at times, but that’s to be expected in such a lively, historic area. The building itself is full of character, as you’d expect from an old palazzo, with a few quirks here and there. Still, it’s a comfortable and reliable place to stay, and the charm far outweighs any minor inconveniences. One major highlight was the hospitality. Ingrid and Marta were absolutely wonderful—so helpful and welcoming. They made excellent restaurant recommendations, helped us reserve dinners, taxis, and even arranged outings. Their assistance made our trip much smoother and more enjoyable. Breakfast each morning was a light selection of pastries and included in the stay, which was a nice touch before heading out for the day. There’s also private parking available about 5–10 minutes away by foot, which was convenient for us as we had a car. Overall, A Palazzo Busdraghi is a solid choice if you’re looking for a central base in Lucca with personalized service and local charm!

A gorgeous, quiet, very small hotel in an old palace just off one of the main Lucca streets. We had a large twin room with a lot of character and a good bathroom. The ladies who run the hotel are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent with home made yoghurt and cakes. The hotel is very clean and in excellent condition. We highly recommend this memorable and delightful hotel. For people with limited mobility there is limited parking and not to the door, There is a flight of stairs and a heavy door up to the hotel. There was a small amount of noise one night but generally very quiet and right in the centre of all the sights, restaurants & shops.

This hotel was in a perfect location. It was a 30 minute cab journey from Pisa but worth the journey to be in this beautiful city. Amazing restaurants no more than a 10 minute walk. The lady who ran this hotel was friendly and could not do enough for us, we checked in early as our rooms were ready, she advised us on our restaurant reservations, recommending a better one for our Saturday night (which was amazing). Rooms were clean and airy. Our only one issue was the stairs in our room. Both me and my husband slipped down them, we mentioned this and she said she would consider putting a strip on the bottom stair. Breakfast was perfect for our needs. A lovely stay, I would stay here again.

We had a perfectly lovely stay at this warm and welcoming hotel. The entire premises were as clean and tidy as one could ever hope for. Marta was always cordial, helpful and a joy to converse with. The room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. The included breakfast never failed to delight, especially the delicious croissants and coffee. Every aspect of our stay was a complete delight. I have no qualms whatsoever in giving this thoroughly charming accommodation my highest recommendation.

We could have spent seven nights at this place if not because of the nationwide workers strike that disrupted all train schedules. We stayed only six nights. The place is very friendly and responsive. Ingrid and Marta responded to my various phone calls, emails. It gave me confidence and comfort that I could reach someone and get help. Breakfast was good. The place is within easy walking distance to all tourist sites. We had a good time at this place and would have stayed the entire seven nights.

Stayed for a week in this lovely B&B. Situated right in the middle of the classy main shopping street. Fabulous shops. Plenty of pavement cafes and historic places to visit. The hotel is quiet as the street is mainly a pedestrian thoroughfare with just the occasional vehicle. The hotel room was nicely furnished….quite a hard bed, but not uncomfortable. Really clean and cosy. Special mention to Marta and Ingrid who went above and beyond to help and advise on places to eat etc, etc. Two very kind and friendly hosts. Amazing breakfast with huge assortment of pastries, fruit, cereals and savouries. The very few downsides…. 20 steps to get up to reception. No tea/coffee making faculty in room (would’ve been nice after a day sightseeing) No shampoo, just soap dispensers. Watch out for the odd step on the wooden floors, they could do with a warning strip to the edges! No garden area to sit in. Still worth 5stars.
