Hotel Garni Frauenschuh

This is a great hotel for families - especially those traveling with small children. Our room included a double bed for the parents and two bunk beds for the children plus a breakfast nook and a spacious balcony. The view from the balcony was truly beautiful. The family who runs the hotel is very accomodating and provides good service in all areas. It is a bit of a drive into the city center (15 min) so I would only recommend it for people traveling with a car or who are willing to navigate the bus.

The hotel fits my plan exactly! it is both close to airport and zentrum by car or bike. The room is very quiet too. Only one thing is lacking a bathtub in the room, but compensated by free spa facility even after check out.

We had a wonderful stay! We had a 4 person room that was welcoming, spacious, & clean. The view from our balcony was so peaceful overlooking farmland, mountains, & the spires of a church in the distance. The pool was very refreshing on the HOT August day we were there & though there is not AC a fan was already provided in the room & proved sufficient. The breakfast was one of the best we've had with an abundant assortment of fruits, cheeses, meats, pastries, etc. We did not experience the saunas provided in the basement but a connected relaxation room was very tempting in the heat as it was cool, dark, & appeared VERY comfortable. The hotel is directly across the street from a bus stop that takes you into downtown Salzburg and the staff provides a bus map with times, etc. We all agreed that we could come back here & stay a week to relax & leisurely explore the surrounding region. Highly recommended!!!

I'd stay at this hotel again on another trip to the Alps. The walking part of "downtown" is an easy 10 min. walk away, and the hotel is quiet at night.

We loved the design and the cleanliness of the hotel, inside and out. Only one problem we must complain about... With the amount of money people pay to stay here, there HAS to be some sort of air conditioning inside the rooms! We had to ask for a fan and recieved a simple tabletop fan which barely circulated the air and cooled the room. We tried to cool the room by opening the windows which led to having a room full of mosquitoes. It took me about an hour to kill tem all and still my family and I were bit. If central air was installed in this hotel, the price of the rooms would be well worth it.
