So, we checked in, very nice staff, went to our room which was clearly marked at Non-smoking, and it wreaked of cigarette smoke, like someone was there right before us smoking. The windows were open and we found a lighter and an empty pack of cigs. I can only guess that it was staff. We had no hot water and the light over the bathroom sink was out. I took the lighter and empty pack of cigs down to the front desk, since I didn't want to get penalized and they acted surprised. I wouldn't stay there again. Breakfast was good, but it was basically a pit. It is situated right over about 5 bars, so there was a lot of noise all the way until 4 AM. If you want to party, this is your place, if you want to sleep, it's not. It's basically a flop-house.

"To enjoy it’s the best place . "

It’s a nice small hotel and that area is famous for beer gardens. Most of the bachelor parties are happening there. So don’t be surprised if you can hear people are having parties until 5am and it’s loud. If you need a quiet place then this is not for you. The receptionist Kelly was very friendly and helpful.

"If i could give no stars i would."

Myself and a group of 9 girls arrived here for a 'party' weekend on Friday 29th March 2019. Rooms are nicely sized, was noisy but wasn't as issue as we would probably add to that throughout the holiday, weak wooden doors with a dodgy lock but we wasn't too bothered as the hotel itself seems safe and we was on the top floor. Two members of staff we met were both lovely however spoke very little English so communication was hard at times. However after 11pm you are left in the hotel with no staff or contact number, which at first didn't seem to be an issue until Saturday night. On Saturday night as I was returning home around 1am to find a German man leaving my room, when I asked him what he was doing he ran away, I then entered my room to find a naked German lady passed out on my bed. With no staff to contact I found the police who were around the bars who then arrested the women and found the man. Both said they wanted no trouble and was a misunderstand as the man's key opened our door, and no valuables were stolen. As I escorted the police out of the hotel I seen one member of staff trying to hide in a room, which I can only describe as a broom closet to avoid the commotion. I explained what happened and demanded we moved rooms or had new bed sheets put on until the morning. She refused to give us a new room, but half heartedly changed our bedsheets. In the morning, after explaining again for the 3rd time what had happened to the other member of staff, I asked for my money back on the room (which was about 120 euro) and to speak to the manager, at first they said the manager was in China and could not be contacted but after kicking up a fuss they rang him and let me speak to him. The manager was called Charlie and when I explained the situation and he laughed down the phone and told me it was my fault and I would not be getting my money back after threatening to put give bad reviews he laughed again and said he didn't care. Due to us leaving to catch a flight I dropped it and told him I would email booking.com and himself when I arrive in England. As leaving the hotel to go the airport (about 20 mins after this phone call.) Charlie arrived at the hotel talking to staff. When I went over and asked if it was him he blankly looked me up and down and carried on talking to his staff. Overall this was a traumatic experience and should not have happened. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Deutlicher Sanierungsstau vorhanden.

The Ritter hotel isn’t as bad as some of the reviews state. I think you have to get into perspective what it costs vs what your getting for the price. A friendly welcome and rooms basic with supplied ear plugs for the noise below the hotel. Breakfast was average and an annoying feature is. the fact they supply one key when there are two in a room. This involved waking up the owners to get in. This hotel is ideally situated and some investment it could be a little gem.

"Great one night stay in a busy nightlife area!"

10.0

My friends and I booked two rooms at Ritter hotel in January as we were only staying in Frankfurt for one night, we got to the hotel and the owners were really lovely and we checked in straight away. The rooms aren't the most up to date but they were clean so it was fine - they asked if we wanted a quiet room but we were there to go out that night so opted for a normal room but warning - it's very loud outside!! This didn't bother us though because we came back at 4am and just fell asleep straight away... The shower wasn't great, it did flood the floor and it seemed like the drain needed cleared out unfortunately. The beds were comfy enough although in the 3 person room, one bed is basically a camping bed. The bar downstairs to the left of the hotel is great - they played rock music all night with 1 euro tequila shots, unreal!! Would definitely recommend that bar and staying at the Ritter Hotel is you're in Frankfurt for a drinking holiday! The hotel is a short walk from Frankfurt sud station where you can hop on a train to Haupbanhof where the main city is - note, if there is a group of 5 or more buy a group train ticket - it's so much cheaper! The staff were super helpful, I left my Nintendo Switch in the hotel and contacted them later about it - they posted it back home to Ireland for me which was great!! I doubt I'll be back in Frankfurt but I'd probably stay here again if I did return!

"Red light district hotel"

2.0

I had booked with booking.com. what looked like a nice rustic german guesthouse on the pictures is a crappy hotel that to my opinion prefers to rent rooms by the hours rather than for full nights. The Asion owners are friendly but yell at their staff. A very small room with a floor that skreeks with ever step and an small not makntained bathroom was what I got for € 100 ,=/night. One cyrtain that covers only half of one of the two windows is ment to keep the light out of the room and the double glazind of the windows is so thin that on the 3rd floor one can hear people whispering at street level. TO AVOID !

"Lost Jewel"

4.0

Located close to the Main River banks in an old part of town, nestled between (and above) several more or less shady pubs, the Ritter Hotel could be a real gem. Yet, it’s a bit run-down, and, on the inside, does nothing for its 17th century’s heritage. A beautiful, original medieval stud-work house, the Chinese owner could not bother less with the jewel she owns. Cheap furniture, still carpet on the (I’m sure) old wooden floor, peach colour oil paint on the walls of the vaulted cellar, which is the breakfast room, with even cheaper furniture. No sign of love to the precious detail anywhere. Breakfast is sufficient, bread rolls are freshened (and not fresh from the nearest bakery), coffee is fresh and good. Public Parking is in front of the Hotel, but limited to one hour (8am to 4pm). There is a storey car park close by. They offer free WiFi, but its quite limited, it is possible to google, but any web site is not to open. Basically, there is no WiFi. There is a TV and a coffee station (with tea only in our case) and it’s clean. Staff is friendly. Due to its old age and medieval construction, the entire house is poorly soundproof, and the next-door Bar might cause sleepless nights. For cheap one or two nights with nightlife close by, and only a short 10 min walk to the Römer, and Römerberg, this Hotel is doable.

"Close to Weihnachtsmarkt, great breakfast"

8.0

We got a free upgrade and could stay in a basic but modern and spacious apartment around the corner. A nice surprise was the breakfast with a large selection of bread and spreads, cereals, juices, etc. in the charming basement of the hotel. Excellent hospitality from the staff. Recommended!
