"Good location"

6.0

Located very near the train station and about a 10 minute walk to the old town, the location is good. The room we had was supposedly a triple, but the extra bed was only suitiable for a small child at best. The room was clean but basic. The breakfast was good, as too the service. Free Internet would be appreciated.

"Ok, but not great ..."

6.0

This hotel is just a place to sleep at night. In that capacity, I give them three stars. However, they are lacking in some services. For example, the front desk closes at 8:00 p.m. so if you get locked out or have problems with your key card or need assistance with something, you are out of luck. Just the basics.

"Clasic Inn in Heidelberg"

6.0

The hotel is close to the train station, about 1km from the center of the city -pleasant walk. 3-star is below the US standard, but acceptable for a short stay. For people with large suitcases, the elevator stops only in between the floors. Small pleasant "library" for only few people. Breakfast quite reasonable, although the dining room very small and crowded. After checking out we were not treated anymore as guests.

"Inexpensive but a bit far from old town."

6.0

Hotel was okay. Relatively inexpensive but about a 20 minute walk from old Heidelberg which is where most want to visit.

"A pleasant stopover"

8.0

This hotel doesn't pretend to be 5-star, but compares well to many of the 3-star establishments I have stayed in throughout Europe. It is conveniently located near the train station, but far enough away to avoid the noise of the trains. While there may be some traffic noise from the front rooms, those at the side are relatively quiet. The windows that open fully were much appreciated, as the rooms can get warm without air-conditioning. The hotel has been renovated, so the bathroom and rooms themselves are of a decent standard, although small. The beds are comfortable enough, but the feather pillow supplied is useless. The wireless internet worked well and at only 5 Euro per 24-hour period, was a bargain. Value for money is excellent for an hotel in the heart of Heidelberg. A major supermarket is located in the immediate vicinity, and the Rhine is a within ten minutes' walk of the hotel. Breakfast is basic continental fare - cold meats, rolls and coffee, but quite adequate for the price. However, the dining area is tiny, so guests are advised to arrive early to get a table. I am fussy about the hotels that I stay in, but this hotel met all my criteria and I would happily recommend it to friends and colleagues.
