Hotel Jakoberhof

The hotel staff is great, very helpful and friendly. While the hotel itself is clean, the area around the hotel is not that great. There were generally people just hanging around the hotel, even in the parking lot. Wifi was so erratic as to be not useable.

Excellent service, we went in a classic car, and they let us park in their compound. Good location, short walk to town centre. Slightly tatty appearance, but very clean. OK breakfast.

Cost effective stay, not too far from Munich, but arrive early if you expect to be able to park: there are only ten spaces available. Likewise, do not park too far from the entrance or you will find yourself boxed in the next morning, which is no good at all if you want an early departure. Augsburg itself appears to be very tight on parking, with most streets dug up for modernisation. The hotel is actually made up of three separate buildings facing each other around the extremely small car park. Two supermarkets opposite used by the local winos for cheap booze. Excellent breakfast at hotel for 5 Euros, but you may have to contend with very large and very hungry contract builder guests who have no shame in grabbing all the bread, cheese, ham and other tasty provisions despite other guests. Nevertheless, very polite and obliging reception, management and staff.

We went to Augsburg and stayed in this hotel to see the Christmas markets. The hotel was lovely, although slightly annoying as we had a large party and the hotel is split into different buildings, so we were all over the place. It is a short walk from the town centre (which really is beautiful) but there is a tram stop right outside the hotel which takes you to the Rathausplatz (where the Christmas markets were). We also too a train to Munich. They are very regular and fast, and you can walk to the train station, or change trams and get there pretty quickly. The breakfast was simple, but all very nice. The staff were very friendly and happy to give you help for anything, especially how to get to places. Everyone speaks fabulous English (we were disappointed that we didn't get much of a chance to practice our German!) All in all, a lovely holiday and would definitely go there again!

The staff here was outstandingly pleasant!!! The room was great with a location near stuff, a short walk from downtown and on the corner for a bus back to the train station. They offered a REAL nice breakfast that was inexpensive and wonderful.

A well situated hotel in a convenient area with limited prking. Would rate it at about a three star. Basic but good.

Neighborhood was noisey making sleeping in difficult if had wanted to. Fan in the room would have been a plus. Staff very courteous and helpful. Car was keyed while parked overnight at hotel which was dissappointing. Nice that a short walk to points of interest. Breakfast was very good.

We have stayed here twice, once last year (Aug 2010) and again this year (June 2011) and both times my only major complaint is that there were roadworks taking place right outside our window (begining at 6.30am every morning) on both visits. We therefore slept very badly for a week (despite using earplugs) and when we tried to complain, no offer to move rooms was made. I would stay here again as the rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable and the location of the hotel very convenient to central Augsburg - hopefully there will be no mini diggers at work outside our bedroom window the next time!

Very clean hotel, our room was spotless, modern bathroom, with a nice breakfast.
