Boutiquehotel Oberkirch im Zentrum

We had a great overnight stop. The warm and friendly welcome together with a fantastic meal in the restaurant, though not the cheapest. The hotel is in the pedestrian area, where vehicular access is difficult. There is a multi storey car park, subsidised by the hotel, but it is some 400m away. There is also a cathedral nearby, which chimes regularly throughout the night. Overall, a nice hotel to discover Freiburg.

eWe stayed for 1 night in a suite and had a great stay. Yes, the hotel is opposite the cathedral, and the bells are loud, but it is part of the charm. If you want somewhere quiet and out of the centre, this is not the place for you. We loved the bells going off because of the novelty, and the food is amazing. We had dinner in the evening, and the staff spoke perfect English (shame on us for not speaking German, I know). They accommodated our gluten free requests with no issue at all, and it really was delicious food. The breakfast in the morning was equally good and set us up for a long day. My one and only issue is the parking/getting to the hotel. You have to drive through a pedestrian area to get to the hotel and drop bags off. You are allowed to do this but there are no signs telling you this, and we were lucky enough to be shouted at by a very angry German gentleman in the middle of the area that did not make us feel we were heading in the right direction (although we were). The staff gave good directions on the phone when we called to ask, but maybe letting guests know it will feel wrong to drive there would help them know they are headed in the right direction. Anyway, small issue really, and we would love to go back on day.

Staff couldn't do enough to ensure we made the most of our one night in Freiburg. The hotel is in Old Town and the outdoor dining area overlooks the Munster and colourful market stalls. Short walk to the city centre, old city gates and other attractions.

The hotel was in a beautiful old building right on the main square opposite the cathedral. It is picturesque both outside and in, while the rooms are beautifully done with excellent furnishings. Further, the service was impeccable. We were there for my daughter's wedding, and staying at the Oberkirk very much added to the enjoyment. I highly recommend it.

i think summer time will be little bit hot because there was no air conditioner.

Very comfortable Warm without air conditioning Room overlooked the Munster so very picturesque and noisy into late evening and traders started setting up early! Good restaurant

Very positive. Accommodating and friendly atmosphere I want to re-visit and bring my family with me. The restaurant is great, breakfast had a wonderful spread.

customer service was excellent and the location appeared excellent until 6.50am on the Sunday morning when we were woken up by prolonged, loud ringing of the church bells lack of wireless in rooms also a disadvantage

We had a lovely room with a bright cheery patio off of it. Although we were right next to the Cathedral, the chimes were not a problem.

Location unbelievable great. Parking is very inconvenient. Burglar alarm went off in middle of night. Could never understand how to turn on A/C. Most of the staff was more than helpful.
